It's Friday! I've got another butterfly card. lol Well it's just that time of year and there is never enough signs of spring that one more butterfly on a card didn't hurt. I've been enthralled in this technique and all the possibilities it holds for a while so I decided to make it a challenge the next time I hosted in the Mix-Ability forum. I made up a few options to get the idea across and you can find them in the MIX67: Take it AWAY! forum. There are two main credits that I want to mention about this technique. I was completely taken away with this video and how the acrylic paint was completely and cleanly removed from the canvas. It's a really amazing result! Watch the first couple of minutes and you'll see how those see-through rain drops are created and then it's explained later on in the video (~8:40). The next credit is art history. Happy Friday! I'm back with my jewelry resin project like I had promised. I hope you went hoping on the official blog hop and you are now ready to see my little project. It was fun to make and really pretty easy. Here's how I did it. I started with the mini ledger from the Vintage Press Charm Set and stamped in StazOn Cloudy Sky. I sponged the image with Rich Cocoa and then used the direct to paper approach around the edges. The rose is from Vintage Ladies Charm Set and stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black then colored with water markers. All this was glued together with Mod Podge glue and given two coats letting it dry completely. Once that was dry I added Pearlized Mica Fragments around the edges from the rose and also sprinkled Pastel Pink Ultra Fine Glitter just inside of the Mica Fragments. I've got a serious butterfly infestation on my blog this week. I suppose since my ICE Resin pendant had flowers you would guess that butterflies wouldn't be far from coming to grab a drink. Today a butterfly has flown in to rest on my Friends Cup card. It's the new challenge for the Mix-Ability forum on Splitcoaststampers hosted by Jeanne. For MIX66 just use Things That Fly . I brightened up this Ganache  (new StazOn Midi ink) cup and butterfly with Prismacolor colored pencils on the wings. It nicely matches the background paper created with monoprinted paper I had stashed away from my last session with the Stampendous Creative Palette. It's so nice to have those handy for my mixed media cards. The monoprint needed some more texture so I stamped the rectangle stamp from the Grunge in Emerald City and the scribble in Pear Tart. Well there is this crafty toy called resin and I'm playing around with it a little this week. I'm not alone though. It's a butterfly bonanza on my blog so far this week. It wasn't planned, but then, any one would if these beauties staring at you.  Today's card is sharing the revamped Petals and Wings set that Verve Stamps released last Friday. And even though you won't notice it on my card today, it comes with coordinating dies, Wings and Petals . The polka dot butterfly is stamped in Jet Black and framed with a PITT artist black pen. My Gelatos were calling for me so I pulled out a trio of them and scribbled across the image. For some visual interest, I rubbed the color together and then for intensity I ran a pencil eraser in a few spots to pull the color together. A layer of gray charcoal paper, tied with some Sky Blue ribbon is only complete with some new Verve bling from the Shine Bright Sequin Mix . Happy Monday, everyone! It's been a little wet in our neck of the woods and yesterday we saw a few rays of sunshine in between rain showers. I love those types of spring days. It put me in the mood to do some cleaning and crafting, so I went to my studio and did both! This card today is an accomplishment for me. I admit that I might have flunked this assignment in class if I had to do it under pressure, but with some time and a few searches on the internet and the posting of the challenge it is supporting where you can find THREE awesome videos, I finally made it work.
