Stampendous and May Arts Blog Hop

Welcome back to our Friday finale hop. This whole week the Stampendous and May Arts design teams have been showcasing these companies products together.

My card was made using the no line coloring method with the Beautiful Braid stamp and watercolor markers by Winsor and Newton. Although they are markers, I still chose to use a water and brush to apply the color.

Once done with Beautiful Braid, I masked off the image with rubber cement and applied watercolor with a wet sponge to through Dreamweaver Stencils Peacock Background stencil.

I added the sentiment from Sisters Perfectly Clear Stamp set and then overall added detail with Prismacolor Pencils.

The ribbon treatment was made with May Arts 7/8 Inch Double Faced Satin – Celery and 1/8 Inch Suede/String Brown.

1. Fold 5 1/2 x 11 inch cardstock in half for a square card base.
2. Stamp Gouda Wish with black ink onto Mixed Media white paper and color. Optional: mask image and airbrush background.
3. Wrap lace edging around card front and then with pink ribbon in a bow.
4. Adhere color square cardstock down onto card base above ribbon and then adhere colored image on top.
5. Curl free edges of image and color cardstock layers.

Stampendous Tied Up In A Bow

Welcome to the May Arts and Stampendous Blog Hop!

Now for my fun little card!

I wanted to make sure that I had ribbon to match my project, so what better could I do than to pick out the ribbon first! Yep, the ribbon is what inspired this card!

From there I created my own pattern paper with a Creative Palette Rectangles, Stack Art Regal Bird Stamp Set, Pansy Spray and some acrylic paint. I never know exactly what's going to happen when I start making a print, but this one sure came out better than I thought it would.

Once the paint dried I stamped Pansy Spray in black on the monoprint. A series of acrylic paint on the filigree stamp in the Regal Bird set, made soft layers of fun. Then I prepped the surface for embossing with Detail White Embossing Powder and the filigree stamp.

My vase is stamped twice, once for the whole image and a second for the rose bloom. I colored with Copic markers from the Violet, Blue Violet, Blue-Green and Green families. They were trimmed and stacked together with various foam adhesive squares.

The Gorgeous sentiment is stamped on white paper and trimmed to look like a pennant tail and then the ribbon was added around the monoprint before gluing down to the matted card base.

Stampendous and May Arts Blog Hop

 Happy Friday! Today we are hopping altogether with a big wow! Have we got some wonderful projects to show you today. I'm kind of excited to see them myself.

If you have found yourself in the midst of our blog hop, welcome and join in at the beginning to see all of our projects. If you feel a little deja-vu, yes you're here again, my Thursday post is in our hop as well!

My card today was created with Stampendous Glance and Vintage Press stamps. Coloring is done with STAEDTLER's Aquarelle pencils, soft pastel, wax crayon and colored pencils. When applicable I blended with an aqua pen.

There have been lots of fun new ribbon from May Arts that I have loved to just hold and run through my fingers, so it can be hard to cut into, but it was worth the trims to complete this card. Look for this brand the next time you need ribbon, May Arts! I believe I've used Faux Linen ribbon and white Wax Cord.

The last few bits of bling are from Stampendous Pearl Glitter and Shaved Ice, with random iridescent rhinestones. Black rhinestones for the center and then a flare of sequins around the bottom of the card. I went back and sponged Black Soot Distress ink to weight down the image on card. I've done this so many times and I wish I'd remember to do it before gluing down my bling. I'll learn some day, right?

I loved having the chance to color this bouquet from Stampendous with my Copic markers even though I lack the coloring ability to do water through glass. When I was done stamping the sentiment and fun background layer I reached for some ribbon that went with my daisy colors and the faux canvas ribbon from May Arts is amazing!

Celebrate the Week with Stampendous and Friends

 

We've managed to fly through another week of inspiration with May Arts and Stampendous! May Arts carries just about every time of ribbon, cord or what not a crafter could dream about... I guess that's why we all have have a splendid time adorning our projects with them. There have been so many wonderful projects for your inspiration and I can't wait to quickly show you mine so that you can keep moving through the hop! 

My frame is from another project that was a sweet lemon meringue yellow color, so I grabbed some Burnt Ochre acrylic paint and darkened it up a bit. I painted Beacon's Fast Finish product over it to seal it and give it a shine. :)

My image is a collage of background stamp, ribbon and colored image. There is a lot of fun techniques here that makes this an inexpensive gift or holiday decor. Let's look at the techniques from the background up:

• Embossed Stampendous Tin Panel Background stamp in Aged Gold Embossing Enamel and Chunky White sprinkled around the edges.
• Three May Arts ribbons across the background with the bottom sweetly tied with a bow, glued with ZipDry glue.
• Stamp on a tail cut ribbon with Stampentous Scripty Blessings stamp using StazOn ink, glued with ZipDry glue.
• Copic Marker colored Stampendous Crowned Angel stamp. Embellished with Crystal Embossing Powder on crown's jewel and star ornament, Fun Flock on angel outfit glued with Fabric-Tac. The whole image is sealed with Fast Finish for a glossy effect (see close up at the beginning of my post). It's then cut out and popped up with foam adhesive dots.
• Drop this into the frame without glazing and it's ready for holiday decorating.
