All Wrapped Up

Another early post because I'm sneaking in a card using a September Offer of the Month stamp at DigiStamp Boutique. It's that adorable Coco with Presents ~ I actually started this color palette from pattern paper, but didn't use it in the end because my digi-print was SO big. The paper was such an inspiration though that I kept going with the present theme and pulled out my collection of Cuttlekid dies and found a present to use. I cut them out on white CS and colored with the same pattern as I did on the Coco image then outlined it with my PITT artist pen. I overlapped the presents into a line and used them as a strip for the bottom of the SC300 sketch. I tried to be clever and repeat the color pattern from Coco by creating a light blue ribbon strip above the presents. Can you see it? Well, I thought I was clever enough at such a late crafting hour. LOL This card is all wrapped up in challenges with prizes! Check out the challenge list below! Pile It On - Cute and...

Apple Pie Tree Story

Happy Monday to you all! Did you see the neat inspiration for InStyle Stamps last week? Go check it out and then come back here to read about an unrelated project. I just had to put both in the same post because the project goes so well with  InSpiration Wednesday , . So I decided to try and be an Art Mom for my daughter's Kindergarten class this year. EDIT: I AM the Art Mom for the year. Last Tuesday I brought in to my daughter's classroom a crock pot and a Peel Away (peels, cores and slices apples and potatoes, possibly more than that). The teacher asked the class to each bring in an apple. While the children were in seatwork, they took turns using the Peel Away on their apple and then placed it in the crock pot. I added a few seasonings and when it was time for pick up the room smelled like chunky applesauce. Well, it was suppose to be applesauce but it resembled more of a pie filling. LOL Each student took home a cup to eat at lunch. Th...

A different kind of Journal

I've been inspired to create an artist journal. I've yet to get the official description, but I think I probably should avoid that because it would put a damper on the idea I had immediately after super talented Taylor over at Quiet Moments had sent the word out. She was wondering what she was going to do in her artist journal. WHAT? Where have I been? Really, I've known about them from all those art classes in college (think DaVinci sketches, Degas, etc.), but it never crossed my mind that I would create an artist journal for me. This idea I had incubated for almost a month and then it was a lightbulb moment, I tell ya. I can't really add anything else to my busy life, but what if I just put the journal together with my need to scrapbook about and of my children? That's it. That's my super-duper-uper-schmooper idea! Gesso and Re-inker, stamps and felt Have a blessed day!

Name Badges for Moms

Hi all, I'm a week late sending this Thursday post out. My best attempt at scheduling my posts and I've failed by a whole week! LOL I know you all will go easy on me. That's why I love my blogging friends so much. For the new 2010-2011 Mother's of Preschoolers group this year, I have signed up to be the Creative Director. I'm not doing it alone and I have a ton of support, so I might have some fun with this new role. I thought some of you might be interested in what we do for our creative time each meeting. Last Thursday was the first meeting and to break the ice we create our name tags around the art table to chat and help and get to know one another. With a few suggestions from veteran MOPS moms, I put together this idea. It needed to be easy, but give the moms some choice in creativity and here's what I did. I gave the moms a pile of flowers, a pile of pleated and ruffled ribbons, various patterned paper and the use of all my edge punches to create t...
