Stampendous Blog Hop is Klik'n

It's the full team blog hop day! We like to be able to bring you as much inspiration as possible so there is a Friday Blog Hop that we all get to share a second round of creations.

First I'd like to thank the companies that were generous with providing me with these products to try out, enjoy and blog about. The more I work with making jewelry, the more fun it is for me.

My project today is a leather bracelet with two Snap bases and one Bezel Snaps. When I first got this package I didn't really understand the Snap Bases concept. I looked around my supplies trying to figure out what I could glue to these snaps.We'll see if this works long term, but I decided to use up some of the Resin Clay and make cabochons. Since I had the clay mixed up and always seem to gauge it on the side of too much I made the Bezel Snap with clay too..

 So here's how I made it.

Supplies:

MG10 Teal Micro Glitter
MG13 Copper Micro Glitter
MG17 Cinnamon Micro Glitter
FRG09C Black Glass Glitter
FX72 Clip Tool

Plus:
Klik Small Snap Bezel
Klik Small Snap Blank
ETI Jewelry Clay
ETI Jewelry Resin
Dry Paintbrush
Upholstery Tacks
Large and Small Gears (Paper Studio Spare Parts)
Florist Wire

1. Mix Jewelry Clay per instructions.
2. Mound equal parts onto Snap Blanks and press in to fill the small lipped edge. Clasp it with a Clip Tool and set into jar for a short curing time.
3. Press clay into snap bezel just enough to cover area. 
4. Press a larger gear down over clay to press it through holes in the gear. Add more clay to top and mound. Set aside on flat surface to cure a short time (30 minutes)
5. On a piece of wax paper or tray sprinkle a small amount of each glitter and with a dry paintbrush apply to clay. The clay will still be malleable, but firm.
6. Press a small gear into the bezel's clay.
7. Wrap florist wire around yarn needles a few times. Squeeze wraps together to make a fake spring leaving both ends with 1/8-inch piece. Press into bezel clay.
8.  Wrap florist wire around medium marker, Emboss Pen was my choice, 3-4 times. Bend the end and pierce the side of the bezel clay. Be sure to keep the curve while wrapping it around the Blank Bezel.
9. Add three upholstery tack to blank bezels near or around the wire to keep it in place.Add one large tack to the bezel and additional small ones.
10. Pour a small amount of resin, per instructions, and with a small old paintbrush (that you are ready to throw away) and paint a thin layer onto the clay surface. Sprinkle Black Glass Glitter by pinching a few and dropping them over the bezel.
11. Let this cure for a long time so the clay will harden and not loose it's steampunk parts and pieces.

Instructions:


1. Create a monoprint with some acrylic paint. Let dry.

2. Stamp flower bunch from Eclectic Charms set with Memento Black Ink onto monoprint and color with water and acrylic paint (greens).

3. Seal with Decou-Page. Let dry.

4. Trace bezel onto sticky note and cut out center. Use this window tool over the stamped image to find composition.Trim circle out of monoprint paper.

5. Glue stamped image in bezel and let dry.
6. Pour a small amount of prepared resin into bezel and let cure.

7. Grab the DIY snaps and create a few cabochons with the Jewelry Clay.Mix clay according to directions. Press out equal amounts into two snaps. Let set 15 minutes.

8. Grab the snap back with a Clip Tool. Roll snap with mounded clay, into a hand mixture of Red, Pink Glitter and Fuchsia Glass Glitter.

9. Take clay snap and carefully rock into the Wired mesh stamp. Set to dry per instructions.
Repeat steps 6 -8 for second cabochon.

10. Stamp postage image from Eclectic Charms onto acetate paper with Versamark Watermark ink and emboss with Detail White. Use a Static remover pad first.

11. Cut it out and insert it carefully into the bezel. If there are air pockets add a drop or two of resin into bezel before adding anything else into it.

12. Add embossed postage and fill with resin.

13. Sprinkle Pink, Red and Silver Halo mix around edges. Set aside to cure.

14. Add Halo Mix around the edge of cabochons. Brush any leftover resin onto cabochons sealing glitter.

The rest is assembly!

For the base of the pendant and ring, I stamped a portion of the Royal Insignia background stamp onto white paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink then antiqued it with a spray bottle of coffee water. A quick dry with the heat gun and then glued it into the bezel base with Mod Podge with a thin top layer to seal it. On the pendant I grabbed some twine and wrapped it a few times the size of the rim and then glued it down. Made a bow and glued it down as well. The glitter, crushed glass glitter and Shaved Ice were sprinkled around the edges and then the flower shape rhinestones were strategically placed. I repeated this process sans twine for the ring bezel and then began to pour resin!

Last summer Stampendous and the Design Team partnered with Carmi of Resin Crafts Blog for a week long explosion of fabulous jewelry and that was so much fun we are doing it again this week. We have something new to share with you for our project this week.

This necklace is made with the Antique Copper Framed Rectangle Single Loop Pendant from Nunn Designs and some mixed Jewelry Clay from Envirotex. Just like with the Jewelry Resin, read the instruction thoroughly before you start. You'll need some disposable gloves to work the two-part clay, something I apparently don't have readily available.

I used Stampendous Tiny Alphabet to create the word JOY. I noticed after working in the beads, earring pins, Stampendous Bronze Fragments and Ultrafine Glitter that the word started to disappear so I stamped it  again with black ink and made a pretty deep impression long after I had formed the clay. This means there is quite a bit of time to play with it and that's good.
