Being Sentimental with a Framing Challenge

Can you believe it's Friday already? So many places to go, things to do, projects to finish and that isn't even to get ready for summer around our house. It's nice to stop in here this week and share a little something colorful and fun. Today's post is also about the Stampendous weekly theme, Celebrating Sentiments! What are they? It's akin to coloring pages, but it can be stamped over and over again! Stampendous has nine terrific framed sentiment stamps that are the perfect size for an A2 card. Stamp it, color it and glue it onto a card base. The card is done unless you want to add embossing powders, ribbon or whatever your embellishing go-to may be. Before I get on with my post, I'd like to also let you know that there is a new Splitcoaststampers Mix-Ability challenge,  MIX173 : Frame It!! , that our new team member Polly is hosting, you'll want to stop in and meet her, join in the fun while you are there! I'll be sharing a project som...

Hunt for Chalk Paint and the LOVE of Wallpaper challenge!

My sister made me do it. Well, I haven't started it, but soon I'm going to use THE Annie Sloan chalk paint. I received a little goodie box a few weeks ago from my sister with some supplies to encourage me to get the family furniture painted, namely the Gentleman's' wardrobe handed down from my grandma Parthina. I did a Google search, found a local Stockist and my daughter and I went on a trip to this super small shop that was filled with wallpaper books, wallpaper rolls, wallpaper samples and a honorary chalk painted hutch for THE Annie Sloan line of chalk paints and supplies. Loved learning the steps to get the paint job done and to know that I can go buy more if I run out of my sample pot(s), but I was really intrigued by all the wallpaper designs. So the mixers on Splitcoaststampers Mix-Ability forum are in for a treat with the new challenge starting this Friday (5/13/2016) because of my little trip to the wallpaper store. We are on an Inspiration Wallpaper hu...

If the Shoe Fits Card

Happy Thursday everyone! I'm popping in this fine day to share a card made with the new Stampendous Stiletto Stencil! This week the Stampendous theme is about shoes with new April stamps and stencils.  It's going to be a fun, fun week! Stop by the Stampendous blog posts Monday , Wednesday and today for more inspiration and then stop by tomorrow for the last day of shoes galore. Pssst... the stamps are just as fun as the stencil I'm using today!  Instructions: (supplies are listed below) Fold a 4 1/4 x 11 inch cardstock in half for a finished 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch card base. Set aside. For the stencil piece, trim Mixed Media Paper to just larger than the stencil and lay it down on your protected craft surface, put the Stiletto stencil down on top and tape around the edges. Position a row of Regular Paste along the edge of the stencil with a palette knife, then using a paste spreader at a 30 degree angle slowly spread paste over image. Set embossed piece as...
