Owl Leave you with A Million Little Things

It's the wrap up to a week of Stampendous Owls and also the last day of Hope You Can Cling To 2014 on Splitcoaststampers. I've combined these two together with the Mix-Ability Challenge that is being hosted by Dina this week. Check out the amazing gallery for Hope You Can Cling To, the Owl gallery from a full week of posts on Stampendous and lastly the growing gallery for the MIX91: Put Some Pink On It challenge . We'd love to see you join us for this challenge! I created the pattern paper with Stampendous Creative Palette Monoprinting Plate, DecoArt Acrylic Paints (Dragon Fruit, Toffee, Snow White, Sapphire, Dark Chocolate and Red Alert), and paint tools (brayer, stencil brush, paper towel for texture). Once it was dry I trimmed it down and added the stamped images from Cling Filigree and Medallion Circle using paint on a sponge. Once dry I added it to an A2 card base (a 4 1/4 by 11 inch piece of cardstock folded in half to make a 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inch card b...

Mixability Challenge Today!

Today I'm hosting the Mix-Ability Challenge on Splitcoaststampers and it's going to be ghostly. Check out challenge in the forum and then we'd love to have you join us. We, in the forum, want you to feel like mixed media is fun, easy and approachable so our challenges are made to combine the papercrafting supplies you already have and maybe some basic art supplies you can find in most craft stores, to start a you on the road to mixed media. So today's card is a simple step into mixed media with just one element on the card that works for the challenge today. MIX91: Ghostly Outlines . For my card, I used the Reverse Masking  challenge to create my ghostly outline on the PenPattern Leaves stamp. This stamp set has a free template included in the set, so I grabbed the template (the reverse) and sponged white acrylic paint on the pattern paper. I tilted the template slightly and sponged again so the edge would be slightly blurred.  The PenPat...

Haunted MIX{-Ability} Challenge

It's a haunting Friday in the Mix-Ability forum! Jeanne is hosting the challenge this week and she's asked us to create using a Halloween theme or Halloweenish colors. And here is how I took the challenge: My favorite mixed medium is paint and for backgrounds, so I used some halloweenish colors and my Creative Palette to create the monoprint background. I stamped Tangled Border around the edges with acrylic paint that was pounced onto the stamp with a damp sponge. I stamped Punkin Pals and colored with Copic Markers. Here are the colors if you're interested. G82, G94, YG05, YR23, YR24, YR27, E08, Y17, V15, V17, V20, RV63, T4, T6, T8, W9 (with Copic Airbrush Adapter Set 3) I created a sticky note mask by stamping off the image on a sticky note and then cutting it out and placing it over the colored Punkin Pals. Then I used my Copic airbrush tool with a copic marker to darken the paper around the image before trimming around the image. I used a piece of denim...

Splitcoaststampers Product Focus is Out

I was able to join the Splitcoaststampers Product Focus team again this month for a review of the Spellbinders Holiday Collection . The die set I used on this card had an inlaid die that I ran through for embossing and then distressed to bring out the detail. Really loved being creative with dies as a focus. Please check out the other reviews and the product gallery linked in the review. Lots of fun ideas. Spellbinders Holiday Collection Product Focus You can find this card along with other projects in the Product Focus Gallery . Enabler's list can be found on individual cards.
