31 Days of Halloween - Day 9

Hey there everyone! I'm back this week with another project in the 31 Days of Halloween Hop with Stampendous! 


Last week I used this stamp set to create a background card with a hint of Halloween -- check it out here. It was so subtle if you didn't read between the roses you wouldn't know it was a Halloween themed card! Hint - this set can be used any time of the year!


This week I have a Stampendous Sugar Skull treat bag to share! I'm also using Whisker Graphics products from my wonderful stash that was given to the Stampendous design team on our last collaboration with them (here and here).

Once I was done putting together the sugar skull focal piece I did giggle a bit as it reminded me of a Shakespearean ruff, so I affectionately call this a Spookespeare Treat Bag!

Here's how I made this project!

Supplies: (Links provided are affiliate links with Amazon, they send a few pennies my way at no cost to you. Some company links are provided as a non-affiliate option.)

Stampendous:
  • Sugar Skulls Clear Stamp and Die Set (AZ, STM)
  • Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink Pad by Tsukineko® (AZ, STM)
  • Mixed Media White Paper (AZ, STM)
  • Medium Perfectly Clear Acrylic Stamp Handle (AZ, STM)
  • Dot Sparklers Class A Peel Stickers (AZ, STM)
  • Spring Micro Glitter Kit (Lavender) (AZ, STM)
Whisker Graphics:
Plus:
  • Lime and Purple Color Cardstock (AZ)
  • Lime Tissue Paper (AZ, company website)
  • Copic Markers - B24, BV20, BV31, R37, Y17, YG07, YR09
  • Mono Liquid Glue by Tombow (AZ, EH)
  • Shredding Scissors (AZ) or Fringe Edge Punch (AZ)


 Instructions:
  1. Stamp with black in onto Mixed Media White Paper the skull and on lime cardstock with black ink a ribbon banner and sentiment. Die cut with coordinating dies and color.
  2. Create a purple rosette with 1-1/2 x 11-inch cardstock scored every 1/4-inch. Accordion fold and glue short ends together, press down and glue a scrap of paper to middle holding down until dry. Add glitter around the outer edge with liquid glue and lavender glitter from the Spring Micro Glitter Kit.
  3. Glue the sugar skull to the rosette and glue onto treat bag. Glue on the lime banner.
  4. Cut a lime cardstock to fit inside the bag about 2-5/8 x 4 inches and attach fringed lime tissue paper to the back of it, cover with more lime cardstock if desired.
  5. Wrap with black licorice twine and tie in a bow.
  6. Add Dot Sparklers around rosette.
  7. Fill with goodies and enjoy!

    I thought should be there.

    Wow-this is fantastic. I love the purple with the lime green. Would be wonderful if I could find the time to make these for all my trick or treaters.

    I always love the colorful sugar skulls and the Brown Polka Dot Bag and DivineTwine is so cute. The flowers in the set that you used in your other beautiful card were Terrorific.

Let's Celebrate Plain Jane Style!

There is an Anni-Verve-Sary party going on today! Verve Stamp Company is 2 years old! The hop started at Verve's blog , so come hop on board and see over 5 dozen projects that are sure to get your Verve on! I've been waiting for the right time to blog about this project and when the opportunity came to join in the anniversary blog hop for Verve I knew it was time.
