Glitzy Elements to Dazzle!


Happy Friday everyone! I'm stopping in for a brief post to go along with a Stampendous theme on a fantastic couple of techniques that you can see here and here (Youtube videos). 


Remember all those fun glitters, flakes and embossing enamels from Stampendous? Use them up and make a magnificent background or accent on any project. For great ideas stop by these blogs!

For my Polar Bear card, I used the Glitzy Adhesive Technique. You can read about how I made the card below or just click the link above to get the technique idea! Do both if you have time, right? And if you want to print out my card as a project sheet head on over to the Stampendous website here.

  • Polar Bears Cling Die Set (AZ)
  • Twinkle Glitter (AZ)
  • Shaved Ice (AZ)
  • China Blue Micro Glitter (AZ)
  • Teal Micro Glitter (AZ)
  • Ice Blue Micro Glitter (AZ)
  • Chunky White Embossing Enamel (AZ)
  • Translucent Embossing Paste (AZ)
  • Palette Knife (AZ)
  • Sticky Panel (AZ)
  • Acrylic Handles (AZ)
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad by Tsukineko (AZ)
  • Boss Gloss Embossing Ink Dauber (AZ)
  • Mixed Media White Paper (AZ)
  • HT400 Embossing Heat Tool (AZ)

Plus:

  • My Colors Cardstock - Sky, Winter Lake, Deep Indigo
  • Copic Colors - B12, B14, BG11, BG15, BG32, BG34, C00, C1, C2, C4
  • 3D Foam Squares by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L (AZ)
  • ZipDry™ Paper Glue by Beacon Adhesives (AZ)
  • Double-sided tacky tape (AZ)

Instructions:

  1. Stamp Polar bears in black ink onto Mixed Media White Paper and color.
  2. Cut out with coordinating dies from Polar Bears set.
  3. Cut a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of Sticky Panels and apply to Deep Indigo cardstock of the same size.
  4. Remove liner on Sticky Panel and sprinkle with Shaved Ice and Twinkle Glitter tapping off excess after each essential. Continue with China Blue, Ice Blue, and Teal Micro Glitter and glue to 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inch card base.
  5. Cut a piece of Sky cardstock to look like a rounded horizon about the width of the card. 
  6. Ink rounded edge with Boss Gloss and sprinkle with Chunky White Embossing Enamel adding a few Shaved Ice pieces across the top. Heat from the back side of the cardstock.
  7. Adhere chunky white embossed cardstock to card base using a 1/16" thick layer of Translucent Embossing paste applied with a palette knife. Let dry.
  8. Adhere Polar bears with tacky tape and foam adhesive.

    Another beautiful project. All that sparkle makes me think of the aurora borealis. I'd love to see that in person. Anyway, it's just beautiful. [Bunny]

Let's Celebrate Plain Jane Style!

There is an Anni-Verve-Sary party going on today! Verve Stamp Company is 2 years old! The hop started at Verve's blog , so come hop on board and see over 5 dozen projects that are sure to get your Verve on! I've been waiting for the right time to blog about this project and when the opportunity came to join in the anniversary blog hop for Verve I knew it was time. My blog hop project today uses all Plain Jane Bible verses from Verve. I saw this project at Susan Roberts gallery on Splitcoaststampers and went to her blog to get the details .
