A Retrospect of Verve's July Release Sets and Dies

It's a Verve  July Release Retrospective Blog Hop  today! The Verve Divas and guests are serving up some more inspiration using the July release stamps and dies! Besides a peek at some really cool cards, there are also a couple of prizes up for grabs! Let's have some fun on a Saturday. Special Guest Diva Kay was your last stop on the hop and when you are done here you'll head on over to Charmaine's blog for more Verve inspiration. I'm so excited to show you this card on my blog today. Since the release earlier this month it's been tucked away in the gallery so if it looks familiar to you then I've just connected the dots, but I've kept it for the hop today because it was a fun creative process for me. The feather stamp really needed to have a serendipitous feel to go with it for my card so I randomly brought out a few mixed media tools. It's quite a free flowing card. I added some water to acrylics and create the washed background pap...

Go ahead and take a look around at the other July release products. ALSO, also... Stampendous just might be in your area at a show! Yea! Check out where they are in this blog post .

Summer means Projects, right?

Hi blog friends, Summer always has expectations of fun and travel even when it's just down the hill from home. I'm usually ready to get going on projects in all my unfinished puddles as well. The problem is I end up mixing them all up together and getting injured. Go figure, right. I'm doing all the activities I want to do and it gives me grief in return. Ha. So while my sewing, knitting, papercrafting, bicycle and swimming suit have all sat idle, I've been laying in a recliner or flat on my back recovering from strained and scarred back muscles. Yes, you can giggle at me or with me if you've been there too. Anyway, I'm able do short spurts of typing and one-button photo editing on existing projects to share with you until I'm able to flex my neck and work with my hands at the same time on projects. Maybe I should try and work as Michaelangelo did on the Sistine Chapel, flat on my back. Hmmmm, I' would probably end up with more glue on my face th...

If you just found out about it then you can start at the beginning of the list (below) for the full inspiration line-up. My card today is using the new Plain Jane, 2 Corinthians 12:9  stamped over a splash of mixed acrylic paints that made a blue-gray. The border is from the Scalloped Trim Trio Die Set and I used two color cardstock and popped out the yellow border from the die and place the teal one inside with the yellow dots still in the die. to get t...

Hold on because it's fantastic imagery! Today and all this week I've followed our talented Guest Diva Kay , in the hop list so if you just came from her blog then you are in the right spot. She's done an incredible job with this release, don't you think? It's almost time to ready the pocketbook. Everything in the spotlight hops this week will be available in the  Verve  online store on Friday, 7/11. Are your fingers getting itchy? Verve July 2014 Spotlight - Day 2

Welcome to our July 2014 Spotlight Hop for Day 2!   We have four days of new Verve to Spotlight and everything that you see this week will be available in the Verve online store on Friday, 7/11. If you missed Tuesday's hop you can go to  Julee's Tuesday post  to view Moments Remembered Set. You have come from Guest Diva Kay's blog if you are swimming through Day 2 spotlights and you are right where you need to be at the right moment. The Peaceful Medallions Stamp Set has fabulous flowing designs which put me in the mood to create my own background paper. Now that is a great stamp set in my book! I used water diluted acrylic paints to get the color down and then stamped various medallions from the set to create interest. I duplicated this technique for the sentiment panel and just needed a few feathers from Moments Remembered Stamp Set  because their so cool. Once dry, frame lines were made with a pen and ruler. Here are a few closeup's of these f...
