Yesterday while I was suppose to be finishing up my post I was running around the house getting ready for a new piano to be moved to our house. It came all the way from our friends of 9 years home. Thankfully they live just across the street so there wasn't much to do in way of scheduling. I'm amazed at how proficient piano movers are and as I'm sitting on the stairs watching them I image how I too could be proficient at cardmaking if I "moved" through multiple cards in one day. I have tried that, but those who've read this blog know that it was a disaster to try and make multiple cards in a day. The movers were done and already trucking down the road to their next job and it was time to run on to my next task before my kids came home from school, so I could be poised for optimal viewing. Welcome to Verve's  August Release Retrospective Blog Hop ! The Verve Divas are hopping today and serving up some more inspiration using the August release stamps & dies! I'm using the Cupcakes Stamp Set today that I adore. It has all these fun little embellishments for your cupcake. Now that is the easiest way I know to decorate a cupcake for sure. I started out with the cute little cupcake and mastered the cutting of a wee strawberry with it's wee little stem after stamping in some rich antique inks from Clearsnap . Then I went to work out the rest using this week's Mojo sketch and I twisted and turned it around that it's hardly recognizable as the sketch, but it did help me get started so here's the sketch and the hop to link up your creations if you would like. ...

While there are a few weeks yet before we arrive to Halloween, my children managed to get through a whole day of school before calculating a countdown to the upcoming holidays and even creating a list of Christmas gifts, That my friends is what going to school is all about. I just love how a child's mind works. I'm not quite yet ready to start shopping for Christmas, but I have come to the conclusion that I need costumes are quick on the horizon of my holiday to-do list. The crisp air is preparing us for the fun and festive months ahead, but today we can enjoy cute House-Mouse Designs images available through Stampendous. Instructions: Cut colored cardstock into a strip and tie ribbon in a bow. Adhere to card base. Make a dotted line of glue above and below strip of cardstock. It's already Friday, friends! I hope you have some great plans for the weekend while it's still in somewhat warm in the northern hemisphere. Even though it's warm in my town, the mornings have a crisp chill in the air and is the most enticing weather for a cup of coffee to start the day. I think this card screams who I am, and my mom, and maybe my older sister and definitely my brother. It runs in the family I guess. Ha, that was funny. Anyway, I'm not here to chat about my own cup of coffee, but rather the new Viva La Verve sketch + color challenge and the Mix-Ability challenge on Splitcoaststampers today. Dina is hosting the Mix-Ability challenge this week where she asks us to use our non-dominate hand to doodle. Yep, scary, but it really is a lot of fun.
