Rain Puddles Design

Well there is this crafty toy called resin and I'm playing around with it a little this week. I'm not alone though. Some of the Stampendous Design Team is peeking our projects Monday through today and then there is going to be a FOUR DAY hop with the ICE Resin team. It might be a good idea to add that to your calendar, just saying that you might not want to miss it! It's a butterfly bonanza on my blog so far this week. It wasn't planned, but then, any one would if these beauties staring at you.  Today's card is sharing the revamped Petals and Wings set that Verve Stamps released last Friday. And even though you won't notice it on my card today, it comes with coordinating dies, Wings and Petals . The polka dot butterfly is stamped in Jet Black and framed with a PITT artist black pen. My Gelatos were calling for me so I pulled out a trio of them and scribbled across the image. For some visual interest, I rubbed the color together and then for intensity I ran a pencil eraser in a few spots to pull the color together. A layer of gray charcoal paper, tied with some Sky Blue ribbon is only complete with some new Verve bling from the Shine Bright Sequin Mix . Happy Monday, everyone! It's been a little wet in our neck of the woods and yesterday we saw a few rays of sunshine in between rain showers. I love those types of spring days. It put me in the mood to do some cleaning and crafting, so I went to my studio and did both! This card today is an accomplishment for me. I admit that I might have flunked this assignment in class if I had to do it under pressure, but with some time and a few searches on the internet and the posting of the challenge it is supporting where you can find THREE awesome videos, I finally made it work. It's the fourth day of our Stampendous Stamps and Dreamweaver Stencils collaboration and I've just been thrilled to see so much inspiring ways to combine our talents and products. All week long we are going to bring you the best of stamping and stenciling with some fun and amazing products. Here's a mixed media journal page from me. In order to be comfortable with all the elements, I created them in layers by doing a Creative Palette monoprint background on deli paper and glued it into my journal binder. There are Dreamweaver embossing paste elements on the background as well, with swirls, flowers and hearts. The Blossom Beauty head is stamped onto white cardstock and cut out around a pencil tracing from the set's coordinating template (really cool). My inspiration is from this wonderful little Dreamweaver Stencil flower called Plumeria Crest . The fact that I have never seen a plumeria in real life almost makes this flower more intriguing to me. It's a favorite flower of mine. (Here's a photo  of this beautiful flower.) Now here is what I've created for today! I started this colorful panel with the Pop Rectangle die and sponged Shabby Shutters and Shaded Lilac onto white cardstock. Then I added the Plumeria Crest with Pink Persimmon and let some of my sponging fall off the outside of the stencil edge. I liked the extra spot of color to go with the flowers. The rest is just dressing with black paneled on both sides of the stenciled piece and some gray embellishments with a single shiny pennant. Dream It Up! Thursday is here and the inspiration for my project today came full circle. The Dreamweaver Team, and myself are sharing what inspires them when they create. This week the Stampendous Designers are sneaking in with some peeks of the new Catalog releasing this month. Here are the instructions that you can also find on the Projects section of the Stampendous website. Stamp Special Friends with black ink onto white cardstock. Trim and layer on black cardstock. Stamp Pen Pattern Light Background stamp with grey ink onto white cardstock and color.  Use the punchinella template from the Wired NK* Studio Stamp set to sponge white acrylic paint onto left half of Pen Pattern image.
