Rain Puddles Design

It's a great day when I get to just play with my kiddos. A couple of days ago we sat at the kitchen table and played with SargentArt Terracotta clay. They made whatever they wanted as long as I got to tell them all the different ways you could cut, smoosh, dent, texture, roll and pinch the clay. I'd say that's a win-win. Well, today I'm sharing another Kiddo I loved playing with from Stampendous. It's Kiddo Sandcastle. A very sweet little girl that hasn't quite been on the beach long enough to acquire that red glow. Amazing she already has a castle built with a moat! The image, Kiddo Sandcastle, is all colored with Copic Markers using blending, stippling and "erasing" with a colorless blender. It's time for another challenge from me today. Whew! It's been so much fun to bring you all these goodies one right after another. It's the final day of a week long collaboration and the Stampendous Team is hopping with an array of designs using Stampendous Stamps, embossing powder/Enamels and Armour Etch Cream. I'm hosting the sketch challenge with Viva La Verve and posting a little early to fit in all the fun projects I'll be showing throughout the day. There's going to be a Stampendous and Armour Etch Cream Collaboration all week.  Details about this collaboration (including a huge prize package) can be found on this Stampendous blog post . Today is the day for some new and exciting projects! I've got a very quick, simple and extraordinary project to show you for a super fun collaboration we are having with the Armour Products. This is something that I've never done before! It's just too easy not to try! Wow, was this ever easy! Laura warned us it was easy and addicting so you better watch out. I spread a layer of yellow ochre on wet watercolor paper and then smashed a plastic bag all over it to get texture. It was fun! lol Thanks Dini, for the idea. Today I'm hosting the Mix-Ability Challenge and we are smudging around the focal point of our project. Here's the linky to the challenge ! And here's my whole project. I started with a piece of watercolor paper that is the same size as a deep edge canvas which made it easy to stamp and color before fully committing to it on canvas. The flowers from Verve's Let It Be set are stamped in a water resistant ink and colorized by adding chalks around the edges. I was able for the most part to get a clean white border on the paper because I taped down all four sides onto my craft mat. I used stencils for the background patterns. Julie Balzer's Mini Wonky Circles stencil is the first one I used and scribbled some chalk into the open spaces and rubbed it in with my fingers. The extra powder that collected on the edges was smeared in and gave a great fade out to the edges. The second stencil is Studio Calico for the chevron pattern where I spritzed over it with wa...

You know what? I use my Pazzles Inspiration cutting machine all the time, but I rarely have time to take a snapshot of it and share it here. So this time I'm going to take the time and share my daughter's birthday invitation. The crown and all it's layers are the same as the file I downloaded from Pazzles The Craftroom Library , but I did a little magic on the base layer. I aligned the bottom of the crown to guide line and broke the line of the black shape at the intersection of the line. I created a duplicate mirror image and then connected the nodes at the guide line. The last thing I did was add a Kiss line so the card base would be easy to fold. The rest of the crown I duplicated one at a time by the color paper I had chosen and cut them out. While one set was cutting I glued together the others.
