Love Is In the Air

It's Stampendous inspiration time for the ever popular love day! This week Stampendous is rounding up some great ideas to show the love with House-Mouse and other love themed stamps that can be used any time even on Valentine's day.

Stop by Monday's post for oodles if inspiration and then check back the rest of the week for even more!

My card. Love. What I really love about it is the Laurel Burch color palette. It stretches me to blend in a very different way then I would if I were to pick up any other stamp and then I get lost in coloring and realize it's finished.

I'm not going to lie, it takes some time to complete. I practice on a scrap of paper. I'm not sure how exactly I'm going to transition from color to color, but when I'm done it's pure happiness! The colors just POP!

Check out the supplies and easy instructions for today's card. Thanks for stopping by!

HomeSweetHome with Stampendous

Oh how I love this set! I just returned from a wonderful trip to visit with my sister last week. We had an amazing time together chatting about everything we could think of, working on unfinished projects, watching the sunrise and sunset out her awesome picture windows.

Oh my it was fun, but when it's time to come home you can feel it in the tender spot of your heart and it's so appropriate for today's post to say that I went back to the beginning when I drove into my driveway yesterday.

Yep, that makes no sense until you realize I'm paraphrasing a sentiment from the new Family Home Perfectly Clear Stamp Set. Here's a card I made for the January catalog that's a little on the artsy vibe.

Details? All supplies and instructions can be found on the Stampendous Projects Page. Here's the Family Home by Janelle Stollfus page you can go look at for all the information to make one of your own. :)

There's more fine designs from the design team so head on over to the Stampendous Blog for more ideas with this set.

Haunted MIX{-Ability} Challenge

It's a haunting Friday in the Mix-Ability forum! Jeanne is hosting the challenge this week and she's asked us to create using a Halloween theme or Halloweenish colors. And here is how I took the challenge:

My favorite mixed medium is paint and for backgrounds, so I used some halloweenish colors and my Creative Palette to create the monoprint background. I stamped Tangled Border around the edges with acrylic paint that was pounced onto the stamp with a damp sponge.

I stamped Punkin Pals and colored with Copic Markers. Here are the colors if you're interested.

G82, G94, YG05, YR23, YR24, YR27, E08, Y17, V15, V17, V20, RV63, T4, T6, T8, W9 (with Copic Airbrush Adapter Set 3)

I created a sticky note mask by stamping off the image on a sticky note and then cutting it out and placing it over the colored Punkin Pals. Then I used my Copic airbrush tool with a copic marker to darken the paper around the image before trimming around the image. I used a piece of denim and colorless blending refill to create a texture on the Punkin Pals.

MIX90: Haunted Mix!

Details:
Stamps: Punkin Pals, Tangled Border (Stampendous)
Paper: White Sulphite (Pacon), Eggplant Envy (Stampin' Up) purple stash
Ink: Tuxedo Black  (Tsukineko), alcohol markers and colorless refill (Copic), acrylic paints (Various Liquitex, Amsterdam)
Accessories: Creative Palette Monoprinting Palette (Stampendous), silk binding ribbon (Hug Snug), Copic Airbrush Adapter Set 3

Some of the products from this project I found for a Quick Buy!

Verve July 2014 Spotlight Day 4 and RELEASE!

Welcome to the final day of the July Verve Spotlight Week! Release day is finally here! I hope you've enjoyed our sneak peeks and given you some fresh inspiration to crafty by. Everything you have seen this week is available for purchase in the Verve shop!

Kay was before me today if you have been jumping along in the hop. If you just found out about it then you can start at the beginning of the list (below) for the full inspiration line-up.

My card today is using the new Plain Jane, 2 Corinthians 12:9 stamped over a splash of mixed acrylic paints that made a blue-gray. The butterfly from Happy Place is stamped on white cardstock and colored with Copic markers and then for some pop of color I smeared water-soluble oil pastels over the wings (MIX76: Finger Painting). The border is from the Scalloped Trim Trio Die Set and I used two color cardstock and popped out the yellow border from the die and place the teal one inside with the yellow dots still in the die. to get them all out I place a piece of tape across the back and rubbed it on real well. The rest of the tape is used to adhere it to the back of the sentiment panel. I saw this somewhere, probably a fellow Diva, a while ago and I thought it was brilliant. The leftover teal dots were randomly added to get a good flow to the card.

Now it's time to head on over to Charmaine's blog! Thank you for all your kind comments this week and good luck!
