Today is a start of a new month of Viva La Verve sketches and Julee is kickin' it with a pastel trio and sketch challenge . If you're new to Viva La Verve or just getting back into the sketches you'll notice it's changed a wee bit. The challenge has moved to it's own blog! Here's my card sample for the sketch. I started with a paper pad from Authentique called Delightful and found the sweet blue and green from the challenge. Then I used the graph stamp from Making a Statement around the middle of my background paper (notice the pink?) inking in Crumb Cake ink. I wanted some subtle direction on the right side of the card so I used the chevron stamp from Borderline  in Crumb Cake to make that happen. Today is the big day for our combined blog hop party. Whoa what a week, right? I've been popping in along all the blog posts this week and been so thrilled with all the projects and possibilities to Stampendous and Faber-Castell products. I terribly wish this wasn't over already and that we could keep going. There are so many more wonderful products to share that Faber-Castell Design•Memory•Craft provides that maybe I'll be posting some more things to come this month. Be on the look out! Tuesday I was here showing you a colorful Cherry Bird spotlighting luscious Gelatos. Today the color focus is on Floral Lady using Art GRIP Aquarelles Watercolor Pencils and a few Gelatos to fill in here and there. The background is done with Wired Stamp Set stencil and a Gelatos wash. After all the layers were glued together I dropped some Aqua Liquid glue in dots around the edges of Floral Lady and then sprinkled Crystal Embossing Powder over them then tapped off the excess. Once the glue was dry and went over the dots with my heat tool. The result is clear sparkly dots! (Don't tarry on the dots or they will boil.) This week Stampendous is in Vegas at Creative Painting Convention, but since the team is not able to attend with thought we could share some of our paint and stamp projects. I used the No-Line Coloring Technique that I've learned from the tutorial over on Splitcoaststampers. I used acrylic paints over the stamped  Jumbo Cling Moray Dahlia   and boy did I ever use a lot of layers on those petals. LOL Honesty. This was time consuming. I haven't painted with acrylics since college and with it being my first time trying the new technique on Splitcoaststampers I wasn't moving very fast. LOL Anyway, the idea for this week is to create with stamps plus paint. At Creative Paint you'll find all sorts of fun painting classes in Acrylics, Oil and miscellaneous mediums, but acrylic is what I have here at home so that's what I decided to try out.  Any image will do, but if you happen to have Stampendous Jumbo stamps like the Moray Dahlia stamp I used for my car...

It's a lovely Sunday day and I'm at the computer looking through my project photos on my camera and realize I've left a few from you! Isn't that awesome! I've been on the shy side of posting since my surgery last summer so I just assumed that I had nothing left to post for the month. What a nice surprise for me, too! I wanted my kids to give their teachers a little more sweetness in a card than in food, so I grabbed some of Verve's lovely Valentine sets. These were the easiest cards to through together. I was so excited to be able to finish both of them in just an hour. That's considered a miracle in my studio. The January release has some awesome sentiments that work for more than just Valentine season. Here's a valentine style card though that I made for the release.
