If you love felines, papercrafting, or any feline themed projects then there is an incentive to read on and find out about a purrfect blog hop this week!
A super sweet crafty blogger, Janis Woolbright, has been hosting the Cat Lovers Hop and for its third year starting today!!!! If you want to find out details or are just curious as a kitten about it, stop by Janis' blog at Her Peaceful Garden. The pre-hop information is here.
Now for my project! I already had these Indigo Cats stamped and colored just waiting to be shared as a card. I actually stamped and colored them when I made this card back in February but for some reason never finished. For the hop I added the butterflies, and then colored them in with Copic markers (list of colors are below in my supplies and instructions section).
Stampendous is joining the fun in a Friday post so stop by their blog for more cats later this week! They WILL be offering one set of the Laurel Burch Indigo Cats and matching Cutting Dies as a prize. If you can't wait, click the Amazon Ads below and buy them now.
Supplies: Here's a heads up that I link through my Amazon Affiliate Program. If you take a click a link and make a purchase some pennies are sent my way but not at a cost to you. Non-affiliate links are provided when available.
Stampendous:
- Laurel Burch Indigo Cats (AZ, STM)
- Laurel Burch Floral Greetings Set (AZ, STM)
- Pirate Gold Embossing Powder (AZ, STM)
- Versamark Watermark Pen (AZ, STM)
- Mixed Media White Paper (AZ, STM)
- Wagner HT 400 Embossing Heat Tool (AZ, STM)
- Perfectly Clear Stamp Handles (AZ, STM)

- Sketch Markers by Copic - BG01, B02, B04, B06, E31, E33, E35, E39, FV2, R29, RV19, V15, W4, Y17, Y32, YG00, YG07, YG17, YR04, YR09
- Mini MISTI Stamping Tool (AZ, EH) (magnets, too)
Instructions:
- Cut a piece of Mixed Media Paper to 4 x 5-1/4 inches.
- Place the paper in the MISTI Stamping Tool into a corner.
- Position the small Indigo Cat stamp onto the paper and close lid to cling stamp to lid.
- Stamp with Memento Black ink as many times needed to get solid black lines.
- Place a sticky note over cat and stamp one more time, gently remove and trim out cat to use for a mask.
- Remove small cat stamp, position large cat on white paper and cling to lid.
- Place mask on small cat and ink large cat stamp with black ink, repeat stamping large cat until you have solid black lines.
- Place a sticky note over stamped large cat, stamp cat one more time, gently remove and trim out cat to use as mask.
- Place masks over cats and stamp butterflies from the Indigo Cats set around the top half of the cardstock.
- Remove masks and use an alcohol marker safe pen to draw a black line on each side of the cats for a horizon.
- Color as desired using the Laurel Burch Coloring Guide provided by Stampendous.
- Use the free template included in the Indigo Cats Stamp Set right after coloring the bottom background so it draws the color to the open shapes of the template, or use the marker again to color shapes through the template. Create circles above the horizon line.
- Outline the cats and butterflies, plus antenna, with Versamark Watermark Pen and heat emboss with Pirate Gold powder.
This blog post contains goodies I received for free from some of my favorite crafting companies. I blog about things I love to make and my comments are my own.
