A Perfect Example

There are very few people, I think, in this world that we can truly say that they are a perfect example of what you want to be. My dear sweet mother is one of them. She's actually riding out to see me tomorrow! I'm so excited that I just can't wait to squeeze her sweet little neck. I must have been thinking a lot about her while I tried to whip out another Viva La Verve sketch challenge today, because I grabbed the Verve Just For You stamp set with this sentiment. The sketch's twist was to use edge punches and my mind immediately thought of ruffles on a girls dress. When I grabbed the first ink color I wanted to go with I new it wasn't going to be ruffles. I picked Stampin' Up Forest Foliage and brayed it down on white cardstock then stamped the foliage from Verve's Forever in Our Hearts with Versamark (forgetting to use my embossing buddy which ended up being a nice texture around the leaves) and then clear embossed. I started in with my edge punches and d...

Spread your {faerie} wings and Fly

I've got a very cool card I'd like to share. As some of my previous posts have mentioned that I'm just insanely tickled when I use my Prismacolor markers and this card showcases that precisely. How tickled I am not insane I might appear to be. Actually my neighbor mentioned that it might be the fumes from the marker, but that's a given, right? I was looking for more free digital stamps to practice some more marker work when I came across this image (scroll down just a bit to see the black and white illustration) from a post on inky impressions challenge blog. How cute is this illustration! I had a hard time starting to color this cute faerie, so I consulted my dear husband who is a Sci-fi slash fantasy fan and we have a small library of books to show for it. I originally started to color with a day scene in mind and then he threw me for a loop and said that fairies typically (in his books) come out at night. So I started in with darker colors and then he mentioned ...

All that we Love Deeply

I've been on the downside of my craftiness lately and a bit gloomy about it. I'm chalking it up to being sick a couple of weekends ago and its taken me a while to get back to a routine. So to jump back into it I've done the Midnight Madness sketch challenge over at Priscilla's Style blog. I went simple and as usual looked at my tray of paper scraps. My inspiration was the polka dot paper for the color scheme. It's funny that's the only place it shows up. I realized that and added the flower centers to repeat it. Card Details: Stamps: CTMH Spring set Paper: LSS cream MM Neutrals paper pack (burgundy pattern paper), textured brown paper Ink: SU! Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Bravo Burgundy, Mauve Mist or Rose Red, Ranger Walnut Stain Ink Accessories: More Mustard grosgrain ribbon (retired), AC Elements Medium Brown Eyelets, Gold Stickles, Little Leaves Die

I'm in search of flower help

Do you know any of the flowers in this picture? I'm trying to find photos or clipart for them. (Right-click on the image to open up in a new window a larger image.) I think A and C are the same delphiniums, but if anyone knows what they are please let me know. Thanks for your help.

Kreativ Blogger Award Origins

So after I posted and then Updated the post about my Kreativ Blogger Award, I had to look around for some origins. Here is a link that sounded good. http://simonfoodfavourites.blogspot.com/2009/08/original-designer-of-kreativ-blogger.html Janelle

Blog Award

Hello everyone! I need to make a quick post about a very sweet Jen who nominated me for a Kreativ Blogger Award a week ago! I'm so sorry it's taken me this long to post about it. I thought if I ever got one of these award nominations I would post about it as fast as my fingers could type! I never figured I'd be in the midst of children's Bible school and then sick children on top of that. Thank you Jen of I Create blog for nominating me for this award! To accept the award I have to do a few things. 1. Thank the person who nominated me for this award. 2. Copy the logo and place it on my blog. 3. Link the person who nominated me for this award. 4. Name seven things about me that people might find interesting. 5. Nominate seven Kreativ Bloggers. 6. Post links to the seven blogs I nominate. 7. Leave comments on all seven blogs letting them know I nominated them. Seven things you {might} find interesting about me: I am the youngest of four children that ...

It's Midnight Madness Time!

Being sick over the weekend I didn't have time to create anything for this week's Midnight Madness sketch (MMSC14) , but I still wanted to play along. Instead I whipped up a scrapbook page that will hopefully get me started on my mom's scrapbook for her birthday. All embellishments are from Nicole Seitler of www.SugarplumPaperie.com and the kit is from www.thedigichick.com called China Blue by Sugarplum Paperie. I used Paint Shop Pro 8 (old version, but one I know). Congratulations to Dani who won the awesome Big Shot Blog Candy. It's going to be amazing to use! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy your week!
