Attitude on Safari

You know sometimes it takes a while before an a-ha moment happens, like years, before you realize that things could have been easier making cards "if only." My a-ha moment was that I could actually make up a bunch of backgrounds to have handy. Yep, I know it's a simple step, but wow it happened with this card.

I used the background I made a year ago in February from this MIX210: Glue Stick Resist challenge, but it happened to be the last Technique Junkies challenge!!!!! Double yeah! By the way, there is a new challenge out to make ATC's the NEW coin way!

So, if you're interested, here are the details of my card with safari attitude.

  • Bright White Cardstock by Neenah (AZ)
  • Black Cardstock by Recollections (AZ)
  • Versafine Clair Ink Pad - Nocturne (AZ)
  • Glue Stick by Avery (AZEH)
  • Watercolors or Color Bursts (AZTJ)
  • Flat Paintbrush (AZ - set)
  • Divine Twine - Black Licorice (AZ)
Instructions:
  1. For the background paint a light watercolor randomly onto white cardstock, let dry and then use a glue stick to make a design. Once dry paint a second color and let dry to trim to 3-7/8 by 5-1/8 inches.
  2. Glue onto a 4 by 5-1/4 inch black mat and then onto card base that is 4-1/4 by 5-1/2 inches.
  3. Stamp Attitude Giraffe with waterproof ink onto white cardstock and color with watercolors, let dry.
  4. Cut around stamped image and mat onto black cardstock.
  5. Tie with twine and pop up on the card with foam adhesive onto the card base.
  6. Stamp Donuts Happy Birthday with black ink onto the card base below Attitude Giraffes.
