More Inspiration on the Hop with Tombow

Welcome back to the last day of the Stampendous and Tombow hop! If you've been hopping with us you know we are on Day 4 and if you want to see all the goodies from all the days then stop by the Stampendous blog first. Details about prizes are there and they are GOOD!

Here are the links you need to hop today and on the Stampendous blog there will be links to the other days. Enjoy!

I have a treat for you today! This little project has been brewing in my creativity engine for a long time and it's taken a few turns, but I do think it will be fun to get your imagination moving. So there will be tons of photos!

A game box with a game board, Woodland Friends with heads that wobble and a good dose of imagination.

FYI - Techniques and supplies will be listed and linked at the end.

Every game needs a container so I made one from cardstock and added a cover image (as you saw above), but what I did want was a good way to keep it closed and my game pieces from falling out.
Tombow Fastener Tabs came to the rescue!

Here are what I made for the game. a few characters, props and leaf stands.

Each leaf stand has a small dollop of Tombow Xtreme Mounting Putty. Now we can mix and match, plus make more characters with the other Pop Up character stamp sets.

Most times a game needs a game board, right?

Each character was colored with alcohol markers, because honestly I just didn't have enough Tombow markers to do it, BUT I always like to add detail to marker colored images, but can't get it unless I use pencils I pulled out my Tombow Recycled Colored Pencils, 24pk Tin

Now for the fun part. Adding a Wobble to their heads and a stand for them to prop up against. Both can be made using DCP1003 Pop'cessories Die Cut Set with ease.

From experience, do a dry run on the wobble die cut because you'll want to make sure the head isn't glued to the wobble or the base. For your convenience, I added and an "X" where the glue should go... I'm using MONO Multi Liquid Glue

Now this game needed a game board and that is what I did. Stamped on white cardstock and colored with markers, masked and air brushed with Tombow Dual Brush Pens using an eBrush. Once the airbrushing was done a light spray of water so the color would expand and darken, BUT since I did the leaves and tree stump with Copic markers those did not run at all. It warped of course so I ran to my matboard stash and made two squares just smaller than half the game boards, glued on so there was a gap at the fold and voila, a sturdy game board.

I wanted to have a mostly soft border, but I did use the Fudenosuke Soft Body Pen for some pebbles along the way.
