A Normal Day for an Extraordinary Friend

Today is kind of a normal day, NOT! It is for our Stampendous design team leader, fairy stampmother and extraordinary friend, Laura Mann Weed who is having a birthday today.

The team couldn't just sit around on this normal day without celebrating an extraordinary person, so we've put together a little hop to say our best wishes!

Here's the hop list and you are starting at the very beginning, if you get lost along the way just come back to my post with the most updated and hopefully accurate list. I'll provide the next hop at the end of my post. :)

Janelle Stollfus - this is here!

Here is my virtual card (it's coming in the mail soon, Laura, promise).

I picked out some oldies AND goodies for this card from the 2013 October catalog to say a Happy Birthday. Sir Rabbit, Grunge Birthday, and Seasonings Embossing Enamel. Sir Rabbit is colored with ZIG Clean Color Water Real Brush Pens, then masked with rubber cement and sprayed with Tombow Dual Brush Pens using an airbrush tool called eBrush.

I never, evah make the inside of my cards pretty, but for our fairy stampmother I went onward. Here's the corner of the card using Steampunk Gears and Seasonings Embossing Enamel, then layers of blank cardstock. Wonder what I should write in there after all this holler about the stamping. LOL

Thank you for stopping by, hope you enjoyed seeing Sir Rabbit with the too brightly colored for a grunge-steampunk birthday card. I didn't have any dark muted ZIG brush pens so I had to go bold!

Your next stop is going to Alison Heikkila's blog. Enjoy!

I was a little ornery and tagged Laura on a FB post just to get her started. Take a peek at all the goodies surrounding Sir Rabbit. It's a mixed media maven in the making.

P.S. - If you ever wonder why my step-out
photos are cropped so tight it's because the
entire table is a complete pile of what I didn't
put on the card but tried.

Welcome Second Annual Scrappy Bowl Party! Thanks so much for popping in to see my Scrappy project using some new Essentials by Stampendous! As our team is getting ready for the blog hop this coming Saturday I wanted to give you a sneak peek of a new product. It's gonna knock your socks off! The new Color Fragments are so much fun to work with and have so much versatility. The technique I used for this journal cover is the Encrusted Jewels Technique  (video). Color Fragments are sprinkled over Deep Impressions Embossing Powder along with Shabby Blue Embossing Enamel and heat set from the back of the project. (That's just so the fragments don't soar off the page and to the floor.) Now for the Sc...

Let's Celebrate Plain Jane Style!

There is an Anni-Verve-Sary party going on today! Verve Stamp Company is 2 years old! The hop started at Verve's blog , so come hop on board and see over 5 dozen projects that are sure to get your Verve on! I've been waiting for the right time to blog about this project and when the opportunity came to join in the anniversary blog hop for Verve I knew it was time. My blog hop project today uses all Plain Jane Bible verses from Verve. I saw this project at Susan Roberts gallery on Splitcoaststampers and went to her blog to get the details . I decided to make one for my mother as a Christmas present...in 2008. Yep, I just now finished it and I have the blog hop to thank. Using sketches would have made this a whole lot faster. LOL The two cards shown in the picture above use the latest Plain Jane release for Psalm 121:1-2 (hanging on box) and Hebrews 11:1 (in front of box). And I'll give the details below, but first here's a slide show of the whole year. Hebr...
