We are so very excited to have you with us today and share some of our fun projects with you! Thank you all for coming along the hop every day this week and leaving such nice and thoughtful comments. It's so fun to read them. :)

My card today was going to have some step by step instructions and then I was SO involved in the process I forgot to take photos. That's just how fun this week has been creating with products from Stampendous and Art Anthology together.

I do have a few shots of the tree once I painted and sprayed it, but I'll give you the instructions from the beginning. I hope this doesn't confuse anyone.
  1. Stamp tree horizon from Jumbo Cling Forest Friends with Versafine Onyx Black ink onto watercolor paper.
  2. Mix a small amount of ultramarine acrylic paint with an airbrush medium and apply above the horizon line for a sky.
  3. Mix Art Anthology White Gesso and airbrush medium together and apply around branches of foreground tree. Let dry.
  4. Make a mask for the snowy hills and foreground tree trunks. Spray Art Anthology Plush Colorations Spray about 15 inches away from paper. Test this on another piece of paper to get the right level of spray. (I wasn't paying attention to my mask and the spray went below the mask onto the snowy area. See how I fix that later in the post.)
  5. Paint 1:1 mix of Salem Blue and airbrush medium onto rims of snow drifts.
  6. Color in the trunks of the tree with a black pen, I used PITT black brush tip pen.
  7. Stamp a second image on watercolor paper and paint trunk with 1:1:1 mix of raw umber, antique maroon and airbrush medium. Paint the branch needles with 1:1 mix of Plantation Pine and airbrush medium. Cut out image.
  8. Using a paintbrush dab Art Anthology Linen Dimensional Paint on snow drifts of both images. Let dry.
  9. Trim down background image.
  1. Now the magic begins. Use a stylus, or burnisher, to swirl white gesso around a few branches.
  2. Add foam squares to back of cut out tree.

  1. Place the cut out tree on top of the background tree.
  2. Dot white gesso onto a few place in the branches with a stylus and let dry.
  3. Dot Big Dip O-Ruby Sorbet Dimensional paint on top of gesso dots and let dry.
  1. Add tree panel to card base.
  2. Stamp sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Do you see my fix for the Plush Colorations over spray area? I just stamped the horizon again, painted the snow and cut it out to cover the over spray. Card complete!

Paper: Watercolor paper, kraft cardstock (Hobby Lobby)
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black (Tsukineko), PITT Artist Black Pen (Faber-Castell), 
Accessories: Paintbrush, Acrylic paints (DecoArt), craft knife and cutting mat, stylus or burnisher, sponge applicator, paper towel for pulling off too much watery paint (I need this all the time when I paint)

Let's Celebrate Plain Jane Style!

There is an Anni-Verve-Sary party going on today! Verve Stamp Company is 2 years old! The hop started at Verve's blog , so come hop on board and see over 5 dozen projects that are sure to get your Verve on! I've been waiting for the right time to blog about this project and when the opportunity came to join in the anniversary blog hop for Verve I knew it was time. My blog hop project today uses all Plain Jane Bible verses from Verve. I saw this project at Susan Roberts gallery on Splitcoaststampers and went to her blog to get the details . I decided to make one for my mother as a Christmas present...in 2008. Yep, I just now finished it and I have the blog hop to thank. Using sketches would have made this a whole lot faster.
