My card today incorporates a few challenges I've had on my Want To Do list since the beginning of last week. The Ways to Use It Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers challenged us to use black only when we stamped to make it look like a silhouette. I knew the flowers in Verve's Great Friend was the best fit for the job. I also found a fascinating challenge with the Technique Lover's Challenge, again at Splitcoast, to go Bargello (a wonderful design that looks like a watercolor quilt to me). I covered up most of the Bargello design with the Silhouette mat so you can't see it all.
The card is created with the Mojo Monday sketch #180 that was designed by Mojo Maker Mary Fish. Isn't it out of the box? I loved creating all the layers and fidgeting with where they looked the best. Between soccer in the backyard, dinner, bath time for the kids and bedtime, I do believe I've realized I need to walk away from a card a few times before I figure out what its suppose to look like.
No details today... because I'm in the mood to not talk so much... you're welcome {wink}.
I'm going to just let you know that I had to load up my Brilliance Graphite Black ink pad to get that solid black flower. I loaded too much ink to the pad and it ran out into the lines of the petals, sooooo I stamped the flower again and cut it out to cover it up. I'm all for full disclosure on how I fix my card mistakes.
