Over The Hump Day? Blog Candy Give-away!

It is Wednesday, the rest of the week is down hill! Well that sweet Virginia from InStyle Stamps is doing another OTHDBCGA! The OTHDBCGA theme is green and yellow. Go over to InStyle Stamps blog to see what might be yours if you play along with us on Over-the-Hump-Day Blog Candy Give-away (Aren't ya glad I spelled it out this time?).

I'm using this adorable Charlie, who reminds me of our two long-hair dachshunds.

There's nothing that tickles me more of what they do then sittin' on their heiners and beg. One waves her paws at ya and the other talks and bellows until her tummy is granted a meal. Our dachshunds are red and red dapple, but the one that inticed us into Dachshund ownership was a sweet little Rosalina, or Rosie for short, for whom we puppysat and that was the end of us. Rosie was much lighter in color and more blonde than our pups, so Charlie has turned Rosie for my project today. After all, the theme is yellow and green, so I had to have Charlie yellow. I've not seen a green dog, except for a character in a  Dr. Suess book, and even then I'm not sure it was even a dog. LOL

I bought some Chocolate Mint hard candy that had green and yellow wrappers ( a cool find on the day you're suppose to work on a green and yellow theme project). I started with a lighter yellow paper on the lid layering, but just had to have it match closer to the ribbon, so I pulled out my marker chart and found a yellow that was close to the ribbon, then I colored the yellow circle. It helped bring out Rosie, I mean Charlie, from the background, don't ya think?.

My husband's work group are mainly engineers and the Admin Assistants desk would usually be stocked with a variety of treats. The engineers would frequent the desk because they wanted some candy as an afternoon engergizer, so they started to call them "Engineer Pellets". Since budget restrictions have been going on for years they don't have that flourishing around the office, so I think I'll have him take this in to share.

Here's my inspiration dog, Rosie. She grew up and went blonde with just a smidgen of black on her ears. Way too cute.

Now don't you think Charlie and Rosie look alike?!!! LOL

Thanks for stopping by!
