Love...let it grow

It's Monday and I have an extra card that I pulled together with some scraps. I had the card base and green panel already made from way back in December that I just couldn't throw away, so I've finally found a use for them .

This card was suppose to be for the new Shabby Tea Room Challenge blog. They are now on the second challenge this week. I missed this challenge by not getting the time zone correct. Silly me.

I decided to try out this challenge because most of the DT are excellent designers in that shabby chic style that I have such a hard time capturing. My card seems a bit to bold for the style, but I've attempted it just the same. It might be supplies that I'm lacking {wink}, but I'll keep going with this challenge when I can.

Here's the inspiration picture and the challenge is to use pink, cream, red, green and brown.

Now here's my card.

How I did it? The base card and main panel are stamped on white cardstock with Old Olive, then Versamark and then clear embossing powder (I know, it's easier to just ink stamp and emboss, but I don't think I was quick enough to do that so I just used my Stamp-a-majig to do the versamark). As I mentioned, this was kept in my jump-to file from December and when I decided to do this challenge it jumped to the occasion. LOL I crack myself up. Since the challenge says cream I sponged them with Ranger Antique Linen. The flower from Verve's Love's Flower was stamped four times with Chocolate Chip ink for paper tole then I colored the petals with Ballet Pink and Cherry Prismacolor Markers, the leaves with Avocado and Light Olive Green markers. The center was colored with a blend of Raspberry, Mahogany and Crimson Red and a red KaiserCraft pearl dot. The "Love" sentiment is colored with Ballet Pink and die cut with Megabiliities Curved Rectangles die #3 (third one in from the center of the set of dies) from white cardstock. So I sponged it as well. {wink} I added the photo corners with some scrap red cardstock and then wrapped around the red satin ribbon for the red of the challenge. A few more red pearl dots and that's it.

Have a great week friends.

I just ordered my first Waltzingmouse Stamps and I can't wait to use them.
