Welcome back to Day 3 of the July 2014 Spotlight Hop! We have had a lot of fun sharing our sneak peeks with you this week and today there is even more complete yummness!
Earlier in the week we had our spotlight on Moments Remembered (Day 1) and Peaceful Medallions (Day 2) by illustrator/designer Chaitali Narla and now we are spotlighting stamps and dies from Verve owner, Julee Tilman. Hold on because it's fantastic imagery!
Today and all this week I've followed our talented Guest Diva Kay, in the hop list so if you just came from her blog then you are in the right spot. She's done an incredible job with this release, don't you think?
It's almost time to ready the pocketbook. Everything in the spotlight hops this week will be available in the Verve online store on Friday, 7/11. Are your fingers getting itchy?
Julee's doodling style stamps are among the top favorites of mine. I cannot make them muted and dull because they just are not meant to be that way!
My theme this week is watercolor paper backgrounds using acrylic paints, sorry for the overload, and so it's fitting that I make a little sky and grass for these festive flowers in the Happy Place Stamp Set. The flowers are colored outside the lines with Copic Markers and then cut out with the coordinating Happy Doodles Die Set. There is a web of adhesive foam squares, glue and intertwining of stems to get them all in place before I glued it down to the background paper. White highlights are made with Copic Opaque White Medium and size 4 round tip brush.
Background border detail are two sized of PITT artist pens loosely drawn around the edge of the taped border.
Thanks for commenting and stopping in today! It's time to go on over to Charmaine's blog for more inspiration.
Want to win some shiny new Verve? We'll be picking a random commenter on one of the hop spots below to win today's featured products! ReplyDeleteAmazing! Your card reminds me of a beloved poem that my students memorize each fall. It begins: "I think God took His paintbrush and laughed aloud in glee as he splashed the Autumn colors for all the world to see." The last lines are: "How God must love His children to give them such joy--to paint such scenes of beauty for all men to enjoy."
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had fun with another season while painting these joyful blooms. TFS your great card.
