Lighthouse Day is Today!

It's unofficial, but today is considered Lighthouse Day! These monuments along the coastlines are always filled with such intriguing stories it's a great idea to call them out on their own day! So why not share a Lighthouse card, right? Stampendous recently released a holiday stamp for the lighthouse enthusiasts and I was intrigued by it because I had never really looked at how the light plays in the night sky. Thanks to Google, I found some reference images and started combining colors from my Copic markers. (I received this stamp and other Stampendous supplies as part of my design team work.) I wish I would have jotted down the exact combination, but I believe I went from a light yellow (Y11) to light green (G20) before moving into the muted blues in the night sky. All the Copic colors are provided below in the supplies section. I'm not the only one sharing this great stamp today. Stop by these blogs for more lighthouse inspiration! Stampendous Blog Lea F...

Shine A Little and A Books Cover

Hey, friends, I've got a mixed media project to share today! I've been having a wonderful summer with my family, but I took a break to pop in the studio for the next Mix-Ability challenge. Lucky for me I am also the host for the challenge this week and it was inspired by the cover of a book I read this summer so we can combine our reading with our crafting! Join us over on the Splitcoaststampers Mix-Ability forum and show off your inspiration from a favorite book! MIX236: By the Book The book?  The Other Einstein . I loved the colors and the halo effect of the sky. To make this card more mixed media style I combined stamping, watercolor, pen, and ink, plus a splatter of white paint. Here's how I made the card. My supplies: I use affiliate links when possible and what that means is when you click an AZ link and make a purchase I receive a few pennies at no cost to you. One Last Summer Vacation

I hope you're enjoying or will try to fit in one more vacation/staycation before school begins! We just got back from a week at the Washington beach, and it was SO relaxing! We didn't find any surfers of the shore in Washington, but this Whisper Friend surfer will work great as a stand in for our vacation photos. {wink} Pink Your Life artist, Nicoletta Zanella  (youtube), created beach theme stamps for the Stampendous April 2017 Catalog that are SO adorable! I picked out this Whisper Friend Surfer to go in my design team box a while back and this card made it into the catalog! If you want to create this card idea scroll to the bottom of the post for supplies and instructions, or you can stop off at the Stampendous website and print out a project page ! Birthday Bonanza!

Happy Monday everyone! This week the theme over on the Stampendous blog is a fun birthday bonanza with all of their fabulous stamps and stencils! Today I have an adorable House-Mouse card to share for a festive birthday card or really any celebration. It would look just as fun as a New Year's image with silver and gold glitter, crushed glass fragments. Anyway, I took a dive into pinks, I'm not a big pink person unless it's for valentine's day or baby cards, but this one just seemed like a right color combination! You can get more details about this card below, but before you go there you should make a note of all the other hops you can take today with Stampendous and the design team.
