It's Friday morning and I'm sitting at my computer typing up this post last minute. I've been getting ready for some holiday festivities, Christmas parties, school parties and little gifties to be spread around as we meet for each event. Today there are a few challenges going on for the week one of them I'm hosting with Viva La Verve! It's the LAST Viva La Verve! Sketch of the year to get ready for 2014. The details are on the forum with some exciting news! Squee! For my other challenges I'm having fun with stencils and gesso/modeling paste for Tiffany's MIX47 challenge on Splitcoaststampers. It's my day to share a favorite Verve creation made in 2013. Pffttt... yeah it wasn't easy to pick just one, but I reluctantly narrowed it down to 4 cards. Go check it out on the Verve Stamps blog today !

Today we are having a wonderful time sharing our creations using some really cool inks from Clearsnap! Thanks for such a great time with your products. Today I'm sharing a CAS that's a wee bit artsy. Freshly inked pads are primed for transferring color to other tools. You'll see it in some of my close-ups where I'll give you two of the tools I used. My first tool is the trusty cotton swab. You can press into the saturated ink pads and get em loaded, then rub lightly or heavily to get different color saturation on your paper. Wisps of sky color around the tree and bird use the Ice Blue, French Blue, Azurite inks from the Ocean Breeze Paintbox pad . The other tool unaware on my work table was a stylus. I pressed the ball tip into the ink and quickly tapped them over the berries using the Yellow Citrus ink from the Ocean Breeze Paintbox pad. Then I did the same tap with the Fireberry ink from the Classic Archival Dye ink in the Petal Point set....

I have two VERY cute helpers during the holidays and they just might be a tad more cute than these two House-Mouse Designs® helpers. It's really close to tell though. I'm using Trim the Tree stamp by House-Mouse Designs® from Stampendous and my Copic Markers for a CAS card with lots of jazz for the holidays. What a thoughtful couple of mice! Sometimes I love the simple impression a sentiment makes. That's so true with Verve's Every Heart Plain Jane . I've used it as a CAS card today to show how lovely the font is that this stamp has in all the right ways. I hope you enjoy it! Today it is officially time for the Christmas season in our house.We really do wait to start buying gifts and putting up the Christmas tree until now so we can enjoy all the goodness of the Thanksgiving holiday. We'll be putting up our tree soon and then it's time to put some Christmas-themed books underneath to fill the space where gifts will be on Christmas Eve. So today's card is all about bringing home the season. I've colored this Stampendous Truck of Gifts image with my Copic markers and later in the post I'll have them listed out for you in case your curious to try it out on your stamped image. This Christmas Joy bird is paper pieced with paper from the Silver and Gold Collection paper pack by Bo Bunny. I added an Award Banner Trim for some extra fun design and repeated the red pattern paper for the sentiment frame. Really easy peasy and shows off that sweet little bird.
