Blog Hop Finale with Whisker Graphics

Welcome to the big finale hop with Whisker Graphics!! I have had so much fun this week creating with bags and tags and twine, I think my mind is going to explode with all the ideas!

Now for my project. I've been playing with all these fun supplies and I loved the idea of a window in my treat bag, but in reality I wasn't going to do it unless I could make it more production line style so I borrowed from the woodworking hobby and made a papercrafter's jig for a window bag! Here's the idea.

Trim a piece of cardstock to fit snug inside of the bag

and mark at the front top of the bag. Remove the cardstock.

Put a piece of tape on the back of the die cut and position it
where you want the die to cut a window in the bag.

Place the cardstock over the die and align the marks
with the front top of the bag. Press so the tape
will stick to the cardstock.

It will look like this on the back. Take away the bag
and run the cardstock through your die cutting machine.

Remove the die cut shape and save for another project or
recycle.

Tape the die on all sides so it will be secure.
This is your new bag window jig and the following steps can 
be repeated for as many window bags as needed.

Slide your jig into the paper bag and run 
through the die cutting machine.

Remove the die cut shape and you have a
window that needs a clear cover. 
Go back a step and repeat with more bags!

These bags are food safe, but at this point I've used some
supplies that probably aren't approved, so create a clear window
with whatever thin plastic you have like a zip closure bag
and some double sided tape.

Create a frame with two dies taped together from
the back (non-cutting side) and cut out cardstock
to be glued onto the bag. Repeat until you have 
enough for your window bags.

Glue the frame on, add a little fun stamped image and 
some twine, then it's time to fill the bitty bag!

Oh yes, a pom-pom decoration, too.

There are a lot of tutorials on how to make twine pom-poms, I used the photo here and used 40 - 50 wraps of twine, but find a tutorial you like and do them while watching a tv game or while sitting at your kids soccer practice. (Tip: no matter how many wraps of twine I used there was a gap where the twine is tied around the 40+ wraps sooooo, I put glue in the gap and pressed the twine together. No more gap!)

Slide a paper clip onto one of the tails of the pom-pom and
tie a bow, then it's ready to seal your treat bag.
