A Retrospect of Verve's July Release Sets and Dies

It's a Verve July Release Retrospective Blog Hop today! The Verve Divas and guests are serving up some more inspiration using the July release stamps and dies! Besides a peek at some really cool cards, there are also a couple of prizes up for grabs! Let's have some fun on a Saturday.

Special Guest Diva Kay was your last stop on the hop and when you are done here you'll head on over to Charmaine's blog for more Verve inspiration.

I'm so excited to show you this card on my blog today. Since the release earlier this month it's been tucked away in the gallery so if it looks familiar to you then I've just connected the dots, but I've kept it for the hop today because it was a fun creative process for me.

The feather stamp really needed to have a serendipitous feel to go with it for my card so I randomly brought out a few mixed media tools. It's quite a free flowing card.

I added some water to acrylics and create the washed background paper on watercolor paper, then went back over it with some whitewashed spritzed around with an old toothbrush. Next I grabbed a stencil and added some white acrylic paint with a palette knife. Then splattered with a paintbrush and a few different colors. The border was made by evenly taping around the watercolor paper at the very beginning.

The sentiment and feather are on monoprinted paper to match the hand painted background.

That's it! I hope you are having a great Saturday! Now let's see what Charmaine has for us!

Let's Celebrate Plain Jane Style!

There is an Anni-Verve-Sary party going on today! Verve Stamp Company is 2 years old! The hop started at Verve's blog , so come hop on board and see over 5 dozen projects that are sure to get your Verve on! I've been waiting for the right time to blog about this project and when the opportunity came to join in the anniversary blog hop for Verve I knew it was time. My blog hop project today uses all Plain Jane Bible verses from Verve. I saw this project at Susan Roberts gallery on Splitcoaststampers and went to her blog to get the details . I decided to make one for my mother as a Christmas present...in 2008. Yep, I just now finished it and I have the blog hop to thank. Using sketches would have made this a whole lot faster. LOL The two cards shown in the picture above use the latest Plain Jane release for Psalm 121:1-2 (hanging on box) and Hebrews 11:1 (in front of box). And I'll give the details below, but first here's a slide show of the whole year. Hebr...
