Dreamweaver and Stampendous


Get ready to be inked, pasted, encrusted, stenciled and stamped! Yesterday the Dreamweaver Stencils' Dream Team and the Stampendous Design Teams started a week-long blog posting where will be providing some "Dream-pendous" inspiration for you, with multiple opportunities to win some fabulous prizes from both companies. Each day this week, you will be directed from both the Stampendous Impressions' blog or the Dream It Up! blog to the players du jour for your oohing and aaahing pleasure. Everyone will be playing on Saturday, the 14th with our final hop for the week. This is your opportunity to see how to mix and mingle your creativity...if you are a stenciler, you will be fascinated at combining stamps with your first love. If you are a stamper, you will be wowed at how stencils can add to your impressions.




My card today is geared for a dad who is a real grease monkey.



Here's how the Dreamweaver products played out on this card.

The background is made with the Gears stencil and new Glossy Black embossing paste. Wow! That stuff is the coolest. I can't describe how easy it is to spread with the palette knife and scraper. Take a look again at the close-up photo at the beginning of my post to see the dimension of the embossing. Very cool, indeed. I crumbled up some Powder Blue Color Fragments to a very fine crumb and glued it to the raised layer of embossing with a glue pad, then grunged up the embossing with a direct to paper inking of VersaFine Onyx Black pad. Now the gears look chunky... a little.

And those matching Stampendous products.

I stamped with an amazingly cool set from Stampendous that you can find at a local store near you, called Guys and Gears. I inked up the sentiment and a few gears with Versamark Watermark ink and embossed with Aged Gold embossing powder. You guessed right when you asked, "is that DIY washi tape?". With a mixture of mica powder (Amber Glow) and craft varnish finish (think Mod Podge), I painted the tape before stamping with Jet Black StazOn. Since the embossed background and a healthy bevel to it I did glue the sentiment panel down then applied the tape.

    Janelle I love how you used the gear stencil with the glossy paste and then added the fragments. I never played with the fragments until this hop but I'm certainly going to get more. Thanks for the inspiration.

Let's Celebrate Plain Jane Style!

There is an Anni-Verve-Sary party going on today! Verve Stamp Company is 2 years old! The hop started at Verve's blog , so come hop on board and see over 5 dozen projects that are sure to get your Verve on! I've been waiting for the right time to blog about this project and when the opportunity came to join in the anniversary blog hop for Verve I knew it was time. My blog hop project today uses all Plain Jane Bible verses from Verve. I saw this project at Susan Roberts gallery on Splitcoaststampers and went to her blog to get the details .
