Valentine Day 4 - You satisfy...

Day 4 is here!
I hope you are enjoying your calorie-free valentine's. ;-)
Yesteryear's treat:
Clever Saying: I'll love you always [Now and Later candy], I'd even love you at the Equator!
Candy: Now and Later
Today's treat:

Clever Saying: You satisfy... my hunger. (I just had to use Snicker's tag line. It just fits the valentine so well.)
Candy: Snickers bite size
Construction:

Last milk carton notes: The top of the milk carton has score lines for the bend that is made when you open up the carton to pour. You will want to check for that before punching a hole in the top for the brad to go through. You don't want to accidentally close the side that easily folds open to pour out your treat!

I used up the leftover strips from the paper I ran through the die cut and they measured about 1" x 2 1/4". 5/8 " from the right side of this paper I used the Stampin' Up Slot punch and twice punched to make a nice wide hole for the sentiment to pop out of.

The sentiments were all typed up on Microsoft Word with a 7/8" margin on the left. This space to the left of the sentiment needs to be there so that you have open space for the heart and brad to cover. I believe I took the longest saying and tabbed twice to get the fold under space between the suspension point and the closing phrase. Cut them out into 3/8" strips that will fit the slot you punched in the background paper.

To fold the sentiment measure around 2" from the left margin and fold under, fold it back towards the front and whenever possible fold in the open space so the wording doesn't get bent in a fold. Sometimes I had to adjust the 2" more so that the longer beginning phrase fit.

Hold the sentiment over the background paper centering from top to bottom and about 1/4" from the left side and add the heart on top. Use a 1/8" hole punch to make a hole in the center of the heart. Add the brad and then put it on the carton.

Put the fold in the center of the sentiment through the slot punch in the background paper and sandwich the fold between the top of the carton and the background paper. That holds the tag in place and also keeps some pressure on the carton opening to keep it closed.

I made up some small tags from a Quickutz small tag die and threaded with thread into a loop. I wrapped this around the brad twice so it would stay on the tag.

That's the construction of the treat milk carton.

I know that there are some free templates out there you can use for these, but the pre-scored die cut from Stampin' Up made it so much easier for me.

I hope you'll come back and share what you've done for your valentines. Send me a link so I can see them.

Let's Celebrate Plain Jane Style!

There is an Anni-Verve-Sary party going on today! Verve Stamp Company is 2 years old! The hop started at Verve's blog , so come hop on board and see over 5 dozen projects that are sure to get your Verve on! I've been waiting for the right time to blog about this project and when the opportunity came to join in the anniversary blog hop for Verve I knew it was time. My blog hop project today uses all Plain Jane Bible verses from Verve. I saw this project at Susan Roberts gallery on Splitcoaststampers and went to her blog to get the details . I decided to make one for my mother as a Christmas present...in 2008. Yep, I just now finished it and I have the blog hop to thank. Using sketches would have made this a whole lot faster. LOL The two cards shown in the picture above use the latest Plain Jane release for Psalm 121:1-2 (hanging on box) and Hebrews 11:1 (in front of box). And I'll give the details below, but first here's a slide show of the whole year. Hebr...
