It's time to Sew some seeds...


Is it time for flowers to bloom and grass to be green yet? I was almost thinking so this past week where we had some days that the kids were out in the backyard playing and then bam!, we had snow falling for nearly 24 hours this weekend. The kids were still outside in the snow though and building a mound of a snowman under the neighbors trampoline. We even saw our kids version of the Family Circus comic. Foot tracks were all over the yard and even in circles. What a great memory.

Okay, back to the reason for our post today. LOL It is the second day of the month and that means its time for Club Anime Sketch. Virginia gave us an awesome sketch for the month.

I'm using InStyle's Potted Plant image for the card. I printed it out and colored with Prismacolor pencils then clear embossed it to get the sponged background. I used the Zig Embossing Pen which has a blue tint to it and it shows up in parts that were not heavy with colored pencil. I'm happy with how it came out even if the tips of my yellow daisies are blue and the pot is bluish too. I've been working on my scrap cardstock pile so I grabbed some of those for the scallop oval and underneath the twill tape. The sentiment is something I made up and if you must know I had it all ready to go on the card and realized I put the suspension point (I looked that up on the internet, otherwise I would have just done this "...") in the wrong place.



I've just be a waitin' to use my Martha Stewart Scoring Board to it's full potential and with this 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" card I needed a coordinating envelope. It was a cinch to make because the envie guide that comes with the board has all the standard sizes on it and where to score on your paper.

Prismacolor Pencil Details: Pot - Terra Cotta; Leaves - Chartreuse, Apple Green; Flowers - Canary Yellow, Sunburst Yellow, Spanish Yellow.

    This is adorable, and I love the stitching because you avoided the straight lines. Having them swerve around gives a nice whimsical feel. Love it!

    Wow! you made this potted plant look awesome! Don't tempt me to buy the MS scoring board...had it in my hand then put it back the other day because I already have the score pal, but it gives me a headache trying to figure out all the other measurement that's NOT on the board!

Let's Celebrate Plain Jane Style!

There is an Anni-Verve-Sary party going on today! Verve Stamp Company is 2 years old!
