Create Your Own Beauty

Time to create a bit of our own beauty! That's what paper crafting is all about anyway! Today, I'm not only creating some of my own beauty it's also a challenge over on the Splitcoaststampers Mix-Ability forum!

Have a great Friday and make time for some crafty and mixed-media time for yourself this weekend!

Supplies: I provide some product links that are through my Amazon Affiliate, and that means when clicked and purchased in the same session a few pennies are sent my way at no cost to you.

Featured Product(s):
  • Taj Tile 6 x 6 Stamp (AZ, STM)
  • Script Sayings Perfectly Clear Stamp Set (STM)
Plus:
  • Mixed Media White Paper (AZ, STM)
  • Kraft Cardstock by Recollections (AZ)
  • Detail White Embossing Powder (AZ, STM)
  • Versamark Watermark Pen (AZ, STM)
  • MEDIA Liquid Acrylic Paints by DecoArt (company website**) - Titanium White, Pyrrole Red, Vermilion, Primary Yellow, Yellow Green Light, Primary Cyan, Dioxazine Purple, Quinacridone Gold, Dark Grey Value 3, Paynes Grey, Raw Umber. **You can find these on Amazon but prices are too random and seem higher by about $3-$5USD/per bottle more than in a local store. I bought quite a few at my local Joann store at a better price. To get an idea go here and here on the Joann website.
  • Mono Multi Liquid Glue by Tombow (AZ)
  • Paintbrushes for acrylic
  • Gel Printing Plate (What I used here AZ. Also a good choice AZ)
  • Brayer (AZ)
  • Static Remover Pad (AZ)
Instructions:
  1. Place a drop of each rainbow color onto the gel plate and roll with brayer back and forth.
  2. Stamp clean Taj Tile stamp onto paint, press and then remove. Either stamp on scrap paper or clean with soap and warm water.
  3. Press Mixed Media White paper onto gel plate and peel away for print. Clean plate or keep creating more prints while all your supplies are out.
  4. Spatter water-thinned white paint over gel print, let dry; then create a border with brown and grey paints. Finish with a black marker around the edge about 1/8-inch in from the edge.
  5. Brush static remover pad across area that will be embossed.
  6. Stamp sentiment with Versamark Watermark ink and sprinkle white embossing powder over it. Tap off excess and return to container.
  7. Heat emboss sentiment. Create shadow with grey paint and liner brush or before embossing sentiment use dark ink to stamp first before brushing paper with static remover pad.
