Collaboration Hop with Stampendous and Tombow

It's our blog hop with Tombow today! We've been showing our looks and learns all week and now it's time to have some fun with the Tombow team. Welcome and let's have some fun.

That's right. If you decide to comment along the way today you just might win some collaboration goodies! Check out the details on the Stampendous blog about prizes and deadlines.

I sat down with all the practice and playing and thinking I've done to create using Tombow markers and glue to finish a simple and fun card. It's edging on the mixed media side of my style and I like how it turned out.

The Jar Bouquet was stamped in waterproof ink and heat dried because I don't like to wait. :) Then I used my version of the Blending Palette to pick up any of the colors from my Dual Brush Pens with the Colorless Blender Pen and start coloring. I used the same set of markers from my post earlier this week.

When I was done, I made a mask with tracing paper. I ran the brush tip of my Tombow black pen over a portion of the Stampendous Dream Text Stamp (SCS MIX60 Challenge) and added it as the background to my image. Doing this instead of using an ink pad let me control where the ink was going.

I added foam tabs to the main image and adhered it to Charcoal paper. Now it was time to imbellish.

I decided to dust off my DIY washi tape technique to see if I could use the Dual Brush Pens on the tape. It worked! I created the tape in two different ways. I either stamped first or added the color first. The color first way allowed for darker stamped impressions, but I liked having the variation of text so I added from all my sets.

The sentiment was the last thing to add to my card. I know, I do things backwards, but that's just how I roll sometimes. The sentiment is from the Say It Today Clear Stamp set.

Thank you ever so much for stopping in today to see how my puddle of crafting this week turned out. Now it's time to go see Kristine Reynolds inspiration for the hop. (As well the whole hop list is available if you should find a bump in the hop of are just getting started here on my blog. Have a great time on the hop today!)

Janelle Stollfus - you are here!

There is a new Splitcoaststampers Mix-Ability Challenge today hosted by Anna. It's challenge is to use The Printed Word, so the dictionary style stamp Dream Text was perfect for it.

Details:
Stamps: Jar Bouquet and Dream Text and Say it Today (Stampendous)
Paper: White (Mohawk), Charcoal and Natural (Wausau)
Ink: Onyx Black (Versafine, Tsukineko), Dual Brush Pen (Tombow)*
Accessories: Blending Palette (Tombow), medical tape ($1 store - it isn't masking tape or fabric tape it's something in between and transparent), tracing paper for mask

*I already owned a few pens from years ago, I think when my daughter was born, so I purchased just a few more and the Colorless Blender Pen from my local art store . They didn't have a Blender Palette so I used the plastic lid from my marker case. It worked fine, but it was clear so I couldn't see my colors well. It would have been better if it were opaque like the Blender Palette.
