Let's Go and Play, back to school!

I've had just the most fabulous time creating with a chalkboard themed snowman card. This week is back to school and what is driving the Splitcoaststampers Mix-Ability Challenge! That's part of my card style today and you really must go and check it out with hostess Tiffany Johnson, for MIX135: Back to School!

I am also playing along, really late in the game because I had to almost unearth a stamp set to make this card today. I was set on creating this card, so I'm glad I finally look behind the chair, on the floor by the kids craft table. Whew!

So here is my card...

I created this card for the Stampendous weekly theme, hmmm-mee-me-me-me-me, do you wanna build a snowman? Oh yes, this sweet little snowman was built specifically because of the stamp sets name, Build A Snowman Perfectly Clear Stamp Set.

To get the no-line effect, I stamped the image pieces with watermark ink and gently rubbed white chalk stick over the lines to get them to show up on the chalkboard black painted paper. Repeat this step for the snowflakes that are included in the stamp set.

I colored the snowman with colored pencils and finished with lightly shading outside the snowman to give him a little depth. When I was done I die cut the snowman with a stitched square die.

The sentiment uses the same chalkboard painted cardstock and seasoned with white chalk before stamping with Versamark ink and embossing with Detail White embossing powder. I added a swirly line just for some fun.

To pull this card together I stamped mores snowflakes in green around the card base, tied a red bow around the front of the card and then popped up the card base and sentiment with foam squares.
