Coloring time with Tombow

Happy Monday everyone! This coming weekend there will be a color splash weekend as my Stampendous teamies and I hop along with TombowUSA's design team. We can't wait to play along so we are having a little fun until it arrives!

Today my card is super quick.

I've wanting to watercolor this Snowflake Sky Rubber Stamp and Christmastide Rubber Stamp stamp together because they are just meant to go together in my book. There are some other fantastic sentiment that would do just as nicely though. Check them out here on the Stampendous website.

I said this was going to easy and it is, let's see just how I made it. After that you can hop on over to the Stampendous blog to get started from the beginning (if you are just now joining us) or hop on to teammie Alison Heikkila for some inspiration.

Supplies:

Stampendous:
R234 Snowflake Sky Rubber Stamp
M327 Christmastide Rubber Stamp
EP525 Sparkle Puff Embossing Powder
VP001 VersaMarker Watermark Ink Pen by Tsukineko®
MPW811 Fran's Mixed Media White Paper
SSH57 Jumbo Perfectly Clear Acrylic Stamp Handle

Plus:
Cardstock by Bazzill Basics®
Watercolor paper
Dual Brush Pens by Tombow® (553 - Mist Purple, 478 - Cyan, 528 - Navy Blue, 603 - Periwinkle)
3-in-1 Glue by Beacon Adhesives®
Sewing machine
White thread

Instructions:

  1. Stamp Snowflake Sky Rubber Stamp in black onto watercolor. Let dry.
  2. Stamp Christmastide sentiment in black onto mixed media paper. Let dry.
  3. Randomly color a non stick craft mat or plastic sheet protector (anything nonporous) with Tombow brush pens.
  4. Spray lightly with water bottle and then press Snowflake Sky onto watercolor paper. Let dry.
  5. Randomly draw with VersaMarker pen in dots on and around small snowflakes.
  6. Sprinkle Sparkle Puff over dots and tap off excess before heat embossing.
  7. Sew around the edges and glue down to card base.
  8. Angle sentiment panel and mark cut lines along edge of background paper. Trim and glue to card base.

  1. Love the beautiful simplicity of this card. Would be a great design for mass producing. The fluid water colored background is subtle and works perfectly with the snowflakes!
