Doesn't there seem to be a need for a crafty motivation today? Well, it's true with me, and so I've created a fun play on words to go along with a challenge over on the Splitcoaststampers Mix-Ability forum.
Yep, I'm hosting a challenge this week, and it's totally easy, totally fun and a way to align your MOTIF!
Now all you need to do is look in your crafty supplies for something that repeats AND something you have or can create it larger as a single motif for your motivation!

The motif, or shape, that I planned on using was a filigree, and once I started digging, I ran across all these beautiful honeycomb supplies, so I decided to make something of it.

The base paper is made with my Gelli Plate that I have had for a long time but hardly ever used, really I've been so busy that I just don't have time to actually play for fun and get to know my tools! I know you know what I'm talking about, right?

I had a DecoArt stencil that I bought during their $1-2 stencil sale last December, boy that was a deal!!!! I grabbed some of my Americana Acrylic paints and started having some fun making prints until I came up with one I liked.

I wanted to add a stronger repeating pattern, and that's where the honeycomb embossing folder from Cuttlebug came through. I ran the monoprint through my machine and then rolled paint over it with my brayer.

I create a hexagon shape in my Silhouette cutting machine to use as a template on a piece of monoprint paper. Why? Because I thought I had recently purchased hexagon nesting dies, but either I was dreaming or I've misplaced them. ;)
