New Fun With Fran's Stencil Duos

Happy Monday folks. It seems like I was just here with a project and now it's time for a new one! Today I'm playing with some NEWness. Dina Kowal is hostessing the Mix-Ability challenge this week and it's all about my favorite beverage! OH yes, coffee, and she's telling us to spill it (okay maybe she says painting) for a mixed media project!

Now for the other NEW! This card was designed using Butterfly Duo Stencil Set a fab new product by Stampendous and there will be lots of inspiration this week using these fabby sets.

FMSD102 Butterfly Duo Stencil Set

My prep was getting out my instant coffee granules and making some "paint" with it and put it in a spray bottle as well as palette tray for later.

I put down the open butterfly stencil and sprayed it with coffee, carefully lifting it away and letting it dry.

Then I took the design stencil and put it right on top of the sprayed butterfly and lightly traced the design only where they butterfly stencil shows.

After that it was some serious doodling with a line brush and small round brush.

I added a section of Recollections Rhinestone edging to the middle for a body and then sprinkled Gold Halo Mix over it and rubbed it in to the exposed glue strip to fill in the body.

The Happy Memories sentiment is made by spraying the coffee onto the stamp and then placing the paper onto the stamp and rubbing it in. If you stamp as you normally would it will make all the coffee drip down onto  your paper and you will have a puddle of coffee mess.

I finished the panel with a purple bow, a perfect brown cardstock layer (used my Perfect Layers Ruler there) and another bow with waxed cord.

To add some artsy fun I sprinkled Lavender Embossing powder in the bottom corner of the background layer. then dabbed glue around the card and sprinkled Amethyst Color Fragments and hand placed Mica Fragments on them. A few sequins were added and then the layer was adhered onto a 5 1/2-inch square card base that had a random piece of burlap paper glued to it.

I hope you enjoyed stopping by today. Enjoy coffee with a little bit of painting this week with us over on the Mix-Ability forum.

Wow, you stayed with it to the end! Kudos, haha. Now it's time to hop on over to the rest of the hops today.
