Stampendous and Faber-Castell Blog Hop

Today is the big day for our combined blog hop party. Whoa what a week, right? I've been popping in along all the blog posts this week and been so thrilled with all the projects and possibilities to Stampendous and Faber-Castell products. I terribly wish this wasn't over already and that we could keep going. There are so many more wonderful products to share that Faber-Castell Design•Memory•Craft provides that maybe I'll be posting some more things to come this month. Be on the look out! For now
This week can show you that we *can* live creativity with ease using some many products. I hope you've written down all the techniques and products you want to try. They might even end up in your hands as a prize!!!!!

Comment on all the blog posts today and throughout the week for a chance to win prizes! Winners will be announced next week.

This mixed media card will become a plaque in my studio once I make or find the right base for it. I started this out with a clean water wash on mixed media paper and then rubbed on Pistachio, Lime, Green Tea and butterscotch  in graduation up the paper. A wet flat brush was pulled over each color to move the colors and blend. While the paper was still wet the top and bottom of the paper receive a stipple pattern in the same color Art GRIP Aquarelles watercolor pencil. (This is part of the Mixability Weekly Challenge: MIX58 - Wishy Washy on Splitcoaststampers starting today.)

Because of the thickness and water warp of the paper this Live Creatively stamp didn't impress evenly, so I used the PITT art pen in black to fill it in nicely, I might say.

Did you notice I didn't say I started with the flower stamped on the paper? Yes, I did this project backwards, but I wasn't worried because I could mask out the color quickly with the coordinating stencil that comes with the Spider Mum Stamp.

So I masked the shape and colored it in with Bubblegum Gelato, then dried it and stamped the image in black ink that is waterproof. I colored in the shadow or deep recesses of the flower with Art GRIP Aquarelles and then used a water brush pen to blend it in.

I used the positive shape stencil of the mum to block it off as I stippled over the punchinella stencil from Wired (have you guessed that's my go-to stencil right now?) with Cotton Candy Gelato. This worked so quickly, I was impressed.

The last thing I did was frame all these elements by drawing a line twice around the edge with the Big Stamper's Black Brush Pen.

Thanks so much for hanging in there with me as I explain the process. I hope your still ready for more inspiration because here is the hop list.
