A to Z Magnets

Good morning!

I'm sharing the last craft for our MOPS group this year. We spent the year learning all the different aspects of being a mom... from A to Z so to speak.

Our group had some wood letters from an inherited craft project this past year and we were brain frozen on what to do with them. My crafty assistant, Lori, came up with a great idea to turn them into magnets! We offered different kinds of flowers and leaves, but for the minimalist option we had ribbon to wrap once or twice around the letter and tie in a bow.

Have a great day everyone!

CAS Monday Cards and Event Show and Tell

Good Monday everyone!

It's been a long time since I've sat down at my computer to type up a post, but I've remained super busy. We have 4 more days of school, two programs in one night in the same building (easy night) and a park and picnic day on the same day. That's my kids schedule and in addition I'm pulling together all the leftover supplies from the year of MOPS crafts and creating kits for anyone to buy at our meeting this week. So I'm working round and round to keep up.

The event that I've been working on for the last two months was finally here this last weekend and it was wonderful. Since my blog is mainly about paper crafts I don't get to show much of my other kinds of creations, but I'll make an exception today and show the logo design and some of the event items.

We coordinated the program and name tags in color but I used a simple frame instead of the filigree background of the logo.

Now on to my CAS cards for today. I've been donating my cards this spring to help raise funds for a few families in my children's school. It's been a wonderful feeling to be able to help out in my own way. The results were truly God blessed. I was even asked to create a few larger cards for a college class to use as thank you cards for special speakers. Here are a few of them.

Busy, busy, busy

Where, oh where, oh where has Janelle been? Among other projects, one that's been keeping me uber busy this last week is with my my churches women's ministry committee. We are at the last few stages of our event planning and preparation, so it's time for elbow grease and great chats! We wanted to do something special for the ladies who will be attending and here is the sneak peek.

I have pieces and parts, some assembled, to 150 journals in my craft room as we speak. Five ladies have been dropping in to my craft room to work on this project and we are almost done! But when they are away... I must play!

Since I've got my mind wrapped in journal assembly I had to make use of the scraps leftover, so I made a few notepads. Aren't these darling! They are just perfect for the zipper section of your purse, or they'll fit in your pocket. Just pull out a pen and jot down whatever you want. I have enough scraps to make about 300 notepads, but I don't think I can muster up the patience to do them all. Do you see the stamped sentiment? It's Verve Stamps! I've got to get my stamp fix somehow, right? LOL

There are a few tutorials out there for creating your own notepads. I wasn't able to find the blog where I originally got the idea, but here is an equally good tutorial.

Details:
Stamps: Faithful Phrases (Verve), Joy for the Journey (Verve)
Paper: Recollection Pads of paper from Michael's, College-ruled filler paper
Ink: Basic Black (Stampin' Up)
Accessories: Plastic Comb Binding, binding machine, Elmer's glue, SEI pocket die cut (not shown)
